Just Playin' Around

Wife and I had a mild emergency situation and I called them to discuss the negative review from earlier. They openly admitted they knew about it and had ""corrected"" the issue; fine with me! I brought my 9-month-old (at the time) daughter to them, but only after I checked the place out carefully. I felt ok with taking the chance, but the wife and I did call a few times for our own sanity (the baby was tiny.. she's my little angel, ok?). more

We've been going here for 10 years. I don't believe the bad reviews. Maybe an employee forgot they were supposed to work the birthday party - but not the other stuff. No way. My kids have been going since they were babies. Awesome if you don't have family in town and have doc. appts. We've gone there every single saturday night for years - I joke that jpa has saved our marriage because we've had date night and a break from the kids all these years. :) I couldn't recommend jpa more. We are so grateful for their kindness and care they have shown our kids each and every time we've been there. My kids adore everyone there. more

Love Just Playin' Around! I have a nine year old and a 8 month old. The oldest has been going to Just Playin' Around now for 7 years and still loves to go! She enjoys hanging out on a weekend night with her friends and we love getting a date night! They are a life saver with the baby! I never worry about leaving him while I run my errands with ease. He is always happy and seems very well taken care of when I return. I have known the owner of Just Playin' Around now for a long time-she knows what she is doing and what kind of people to have working for her-that is what has kept her in business for so long. The ladies that work at JPA like working with kids and babys,and they really care for them! Other drop-ins try to compete, but Just Playin' Around is the best! more

I was shocked by the low review, so I decided I would share how much I love this place. I went to take my daughter (9 months), for the first time. She cried for a little but the workers knew exactly what to do to get her to calm down. My oldest daughter (5) loved it. When I came to pick her up she was begging me to stay longer. The workers here are great with kids, and caring people. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great, affordable, safe place for their kids to stay. more

DO NOT ever bring your child here. The staff lied right to my face about following me and my husbands instructions (change diaper now and before bed) and to please put her in the crib at bedtime, not a swinging chair as they did the time before. The girl was sassy when I requested it and the proceded to leave her in the her soiled diaper ALL NIGHT. She did not change her once- although she said she did!!! I know because I gave her only 3 diapers in the her bag and I got all three back and the new diaper cream had not been opened!! Furthermore, our child (6 months old) had two big red whelps on the back of her head like they had left her on something hard for a long time (not her crib - clearly)! The young staff member explained she had alot of experience taking care of infants, but had no questions when I dropped her off the first time, and then asked the second time we were there if she needed to refrigerate her bottles - yes, of course you do!!!! When we insisted on giving some background (last time she ate, diaper change, etc) she seemed annoyed and not attentive. I am sorry...someone please get an educated ADULT to take care of these children. Absolutley, never ever, ever bring an infant here. it is just not safe!!! more

Just Playin' Around is wonderful!! I just looked up the phone number to call and request lunch for my son, and noticed that they only got ONE STAR. What??? They absolutely do not deserve one star. They deserve 5+. I have been taking my children here for almost 3 years. The women who work here treat my kids like they are their own kids. They are caring, loving, friendly...I could go on forever about this place. Not only do my kids get excited to be here, I get a much needed break to get things done at home. While I am mopping the kitchen floor, I know that my kids are safe and having fun. They even offer lunch. The kids love it! Bottom line....if you need a break or have a doctor's appointment, etc, you should feel good about going here. You won't be disappointed. more

I scheduled and paid for a b-day party a month in advance. I called the day before the party for confirmation on how early I could show up to set up. I was told that someone would open a half hour early. Long story short...THE EMPLOYEE NEVER SHOWED UP. You could imagine how upsetting it is to have people show up for your child's party and you can't get into the place that you scheduled to use. Fortunately, it was a nice day and we were able to go to Bond Park instead. No idea what I would have done if it was raining....I was later told that the person who was supposed to be there thought it was the next weekend. That's no excuse since I called twice the day before asking various questions. Pros: NO PROS - Cons: you pay and schedule for a party and they don't show up. I wouldn't recommend them at all.
