A true Irish pub!Ok with some big screens and sports but... Always a really cool vibe. The food is cheap and really good quality.

I went to check out Joxer Daly?s last Saturday based on a city search article about places to check out in Culver City. Big mistake. This bar is tiny and has a weird vibe. I felt ...

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/22/2012

There is not anything wrong with this bar, great location, great bartenders, let's just say SOME people that shoot pool in there are COMPLETE a-holes and idiots. Bar rules are bar rules, but when some asshole makes up his OWN RULES...that is just the sign of a complete JERK. more

Unbelievably Rude 9/14/2011

Went Sunday because I was in LA, live on the East Coast and wanted to see Giants/Redskins. Sat at bar where there were about 5 tv's. Three were showing the Atlanta game which no one was watching and none had the Giant's game which was playing in the adjoining room which was too packed to get into. I asked the bartender if it would be possible to change one of the televisions to the Giants game. She asked if I knew where the best place to watch was to which I answered no. She then informed me it was my living room. The TV's were not changed and I left with my 6 friends none of whom will ever return. This place appears to enjoy insulting customers. If you enjoy that, be my guest, otherwise, stay away. By the way, the food was also terrible. more

What makes this place a great bar... 6/25/2010

Joxer Daly's is a great place to go if you want a quality beverage and/or some good food in the company of good people. This is a bar you can come back to when the trendy places have come and gone Some criticize the bar saying it's more of a sports bar rather then an Irish Pub. My argument to that is Irish people like and watch sports too. Joxer's caters to just about every major sport including soccer (football), rugby, basketball, football (American), baseball, hockey, boxing, and even formula 1 racing. At anytime when there is a championship or playoff game you can be sure they're showing it at Joxer's. Tuesdays features a weekly raffle for cash anywhere from $100 to $1000. All you have to do is sign up. Doesn't cost you a dime. Wednesdays is Foot's karaoke night (Singing is not my thing but it does bring the women out!). Fridays and some Saturdays brings good to great music from local bands. On Sundays Joxer's hosts the popular team trivia which has become wildly popular on the westside. But what really makes this a great bar is it doesn't cater to ignorant dumbass snobby aholes with no common sense. If you act like an ass you'll be treated like one. If you come into the bar with an attitude you'll get an attitude back. The staff is backed by the owner in this regard. If you're wondering who these people are just read all of the one and two star ratings. So if you want to come to a place where you can relax with some down to earth people come on in. As Tom Bodette of Motel 6 says, ""We'll leave the light on for ya"". Pros: Beautiful bartenders and Properly poured drinks Cons: It closes at 2 am. more

A little slice of Ireland 6/24/2010

I have long enjoyed this little Irish pub in Culver City. Very friendly and engaging staff and consumers. A great place to catch a game and knock a few back as well as catch a colorful anecdote or two from Mehaul. Pros: Atmosphere/Pool/Karaoke more

Over priced, bad service, violent patrons, stay away!!!! 5/15/2010

For the last couple of years Joxers seems to be the center of violence in Culver City. Prices are $2 higher then most other places and the shots are half the size. Food is actually decent if you keep it simple. Stay away from specials like ribs, steaks due to low quality cuts of meat Stick to salads and burgers. If you like rude unexperienced servers who drink when the boss is not around then this is your place!!!! Cons: Good place to hang out if you just got out of jail. more

MAYWEATHER v MOSELY 4/28/2010

hey if you're looking for something fun to do on cinco de mayo check this place out! Karaoke, cheap drinks, mariachi band, hot people what more can u ask for? Pros: fight this sat 5/1 more

Best bar in Los Angeles! 1/27/2010

The Joxer is a gem. The owner and staff couldn't be more attentive and nice. I take large groups from work to this bar frequently. There isn't a person i bring who comes in to the Joxer for the first time who doesn't leave thinking they've found their new favorite bar.. Great drinks, service, and food.... more

Wonderful bar 4/26/2009

Sometimes the live music is not that great. However, it has improved a lot and there have been some great acts there lately. Pros: Staff, lots of TVs, good food Cons: Dodgy live music more

Awesome local pub! 3/7/2009

This place is an awesome dive bar to hang out in on a nightly basis if you can. The staff is always friendly if you are respectful and friendly too. The food is great for it being bar food and the portions are HUGE, this place does not promote itself as a 5 star restaurant so expect good BAR food and that's what you'll get. As for those saying there is some kind of ""gambling"" going on Tuesday nights it's actually a really fun $100 raffle; you put your name in a book and every Tuesday night they pick a name, you have to be there to claim the price or your name is posted up as a looser and the $100 goes into the next week's raffle, meaning the following week it'll be $200, I think the biggest it ever got was just over a grand. As for those saying Mehaul is rude or obnoxious you could not be more wrong, he is super friendly and cares about the environment in his bar, so if you are ruining the vibe for everyone by being an a-hole of course he's going to treat you the same way. If you come expecting a super trendy place forget it, this place is down to earth and relaxed which is why I love it. I come here in jeans and T with some old converse on expecting to have a good time with friends, if i want to get bothered by some drunk a-holes I'll go to Hollywood. As for those upset about being hurried out of the bar when it's closing time, DUH! It's CLOSING time which means these ppl still need to clean up for an hour or more before heading home. I love this place and I bring all of my out of town friends here, I'd recommend it to EVERYONE in an instant. (PS I'm 24 and the crowd is a little older but that's why it's such a chill place to hang out in) Pros: the vibe, cheap drinks, great selection of international beers, smoking patio Cons: slow service on busy nights more

Watch your Credit Card Bartenders are Unskilled, Overcharge and drink behind the Bar 2/22/2009

Great Entertainment (As far as Bands go) . On Feb. 22, 2009 I went by myself for the 1st time in at least 10 years to see an excellent cover band that will be at ""Brennan's Pub"" on Lincoln in Marina Del Rey on March 7, 2009 The owner must not pay his Bartenders very well, I started a tab the short ugly brunette Bartender physically gave me a number tag to identify my Credit Card. I had a shot of 1800 Tequila and a Heineken (bottled) when I went to close out my tab she charged me over $38.00 and told me ""You were buying drinks for everyone"" with an attitude from hell! (I came to the Bar alone and didn't know anybody why would I buy total strangers drinks) ) I questioned it and then she called me a idiot and against her will changed my total to $22.50 which is still not even close to my order total?! when I asked how much the Tequila was she said ""$8.50 but only charged me $4.50 a#%hole"" so that means the Heineken's are $18.00 after that the Door man tells me"" You have to leave now the Bars closed"". I have been a good Bartender/Bouncer for over 6 years and can't believe that the owner as such rude, arrogant, weak, thieving, lames representing his establishment. I will never never ever go there again and don't recommend it to anyone or anybody!! Thumbs down way way down!! On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate this Bar and its crew a -5 Cons: Over charging credit cards more

Awesome 1/26/2009

This is a cool little bar in culver city. The only reason why i like getting a drink here is becasue it is in the same city as my favorite korean bbq restaurant gyenari more

Great Pub 11/13/2008

This place is old school...and I love it for that. The owner is a great guy and the place is exactly what it oughta be. Have a pint, eat some killer food, and enjoy your time in Culver City. more

Great Neighborhood Irish Pub.... Fun 10/7/2008

Hey, I am not a big bar person, but when I want to relax without a lot of frills, this is a great place. It's ALWAYS busy....ALWAYS...... Great Food, eat in or take out. A real mix of people. The staff is friendly. Often they have entertainment. I live close, and go to pick up some food to take home. I have a drink while waiting for my food, and I always say to myself, ""If I was a bar person, this is where I would go."" Pros: food and entertainment Cons: crowded on Irish Holidays more

Rude Owner + Rude Staff = Terrible Bar 9/18/2008

Owner and staff are rude and disrespectful. Culver City is exploding with new night life, there are great new restaurants and bars close to downtown. In these tough times there is no need to waste your time or hard earned money at this RETREAD. Pros: Nada Cons: Pretty much Everything more

I Love This Bar! 9/11/2008

I love this place! It was recommended by a co-worker who is a local and I finally got a friend to go with and try it outt. Everyone was very friendly; food was decent. I was eventually introduced to the owner, who I understand is a Culver City Council member, and he seemed to be a great guy. I do want to say, in all fairness, that I've read all the reviews, and it's interesting to note that all of the people who didn't like this place seemed to have some sort of personal vendetta or motive, i.e. they new the owner's name (I was introduced, but didn't remember it until I read it here) and the level of their anger seemed dispropotionate to the act of writing an informative review -- just seemed very personal. Someone with an ax to grind, competitor?? I don't know, but they seemed a little suspect -- just an observation -- doesn't mean I'm right. I just had a great time, loved the people, bartender, staff,, etc. and will DEFINITELY be back. It is dark, but I kind of like that in a bar -- that's just me -- for what it's worth, this is MY review. CHEERS! Pros: Fun, Fun, Fun -- nice clientele and staff Cons: I love ""dark"", but if you don't, then you won't like it. more

Small, Friendly Dive Bar/Irish Pub 8/31/2008

First and foremost, this is a great Irish pub and a great sports bar. That being said, it's also very much a dive bar. The drinks are cheap and strong and it's pretty dark. The crowd is usually late 28-35ish and everyone is really friendly. You can always meet someone new and strike up a conversation. The guy to girl ratio is about 2349203949203:1, but the guys aren't creepy or offensive; they're usually just there to share a pint and watch some sports. more

skip it 7/28/2008

I went to check out Joxer Daly?s last Saturday based on a city search article about places to check out in Culver City. Big mistake. This bar is tiny and has a weird vibe. I felt as though everyone there was a regular and 40+. Not my scene. Additionally the food was terrible and if it hadn?t been so dark in there, I?m pretty sure that I wouldn?t have even tried it. Pros: cheap Cons: weird vibe, a lot of regulars, gross food more

HORRIBLE BAR-----STAY AWAY FROM JOXER DALYS 1/15/2008

It would be hilarious if it were not true, the staff (including Mehaul) are extremely rude and aggressive (there could be some racial overtones that lead to that type of behavior....). The place is a dump and not worth the aggravation. Mehaul reminds me of a 12 year old girl I once knew?? Pros: N/A Cons: Staff & Owner more

I love this place! 1/11/2008

There are so many good things I can say about this pub! I must say, that I laughed out loud when I read some reviews referring to Mehaul as ""combative,"" as that could not be farther from the truth! Pros: Atmosphere, karaoke, friendly patrons Cons: n/a more
