Awful experience 11/14/2013

The overall experience was awful. We brought the car in on September 18th and the part was ordered for the door lock. We also expected to have a recall notice taken care of. After calling and waiting weeks, we finally called to find out why the parts were not in. We were told that the parts had been back ordered, then the order was lost and no one checked on the order. AFter the parts were ordered and expected on a Wednesday, when I called, I was told the part was sent to the west coast and I would need to wait another day. The work was completed on November 6th--7 weeks later. Each time I called, I was put on hold, hung up on, asked to leave a message, and rarely did I talk to a real person. The phone service was terrible---no one seemed to answer the phone. Richard did return my call, apologized and finally order the part and scheduled service. Seven weeks to wait for a lock repair part and a recall is way to long. Except for Richard, the customer service was terrible. On the day of the repair, we were happy to have the repairs completed, but frustrated to have had to wait 7 weeks. Car works and runs great now. Only reason I'd reccommend this business is because it is the closest one. They do good work when the car is actually in the shop. more

Customer Service Consultant listened to my complaint and within a week Johnson Hyundai and Hyundai Corporation had repaired the brakes on my 2009 Genesis at no cost to me. Everyone with whom I came in contact at Johnson Hyundai was courteous and respectful and seemed genuinely concerned that my visit was a pleasant one. Johnson Hyundai provided excellent customer service. more

Great buying experience. I'm often reluctant to purchase a vehicle from a dealer because of the indifference of sales personnel and the frustration of negotiating. In contrast, the staff at Johnson's were personable, knowledgeable, efficient, accommodating and courteous throughout. Clearly I was fortunate to deal with staff that I met. I would recommend shopping there without hesitation. more

#1 in the Service Department...not sure how!! 4/17/2012

I bought a Hyundai Sonata from Johnson Hyundai February 2011. I decided I want to use their service department to maintain my car. I always made an appointment because I figured that would get me in and out quickly... wrong! As you pull up to the service area you are greeted by a valet who takes your car and says have a seat on the couches and they will be with you in a few. Well a few turned in to 30 minutes. I made an appointment and I have to wait 30 minutes just to drop the car off?!?! I was heading out of town and was 45 minutes late to meet my group. About a week later I got a survey as to how their service was... this would be fun! I told them what happened and I received and email from Stephanie Flesch (I wish she still worked there because she was always very helpful and fast with information) that this would be taking care of. I was told that I no longer needed to drop my car off at JH because they would bring me a car and pick mine up and bring it back when it was done. I also didnt have to pay for this next service. I thought that this was a good way to keep a customer. Well.... I have had a few more problems about not getting things done while my car was in for a regular service and Stephanie once again got this taking care of. So no Stephanie is gone and I am to contact Ron Kerr (Service Manager) for any of my car's maintenance. I emailed him on April 12 to let him know I needed an oil change and I got one response back, when is a good time for you? I responded that any day and time was fine if they were picking up the car. I have not heard from him since then and have decided to no longer use JH for my service needs. I am currently trying to find out the Gen. Manager's email so that I can copy him on this email to let them know I will no longer be bringing my car to their shop. more

Beware of service 4/4/2011

I brought my Santa Fe for inspection. I had some belt issues (slippage) and was using belt dressing. The mechanic told me that my power steering pump had failed and I needed to replace it for a cost of $700 in parts plus labor. I told it was just the spray, but he, and the service department manager, would not listen. They told me that if I did not have the repair done, they would not pass my car for inspection. I took the car to Meineke. They told me there was nothing wrong with the power steering but that I should replace the worn belt soon. They said I easily passed inspection. Beware of service shops that try to talk you into unnecessary repairs. more
