John Knox Preschool began in 1967 as a non-profit, half-day school serving the residents of the community and surrounding communities. The mission of the preschool is to provide a loving and caring Christian environment in which children may develop mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritally. Each child recieves love, guidance, encouragement and educational instruction while learning social responsiblity in a warm, Christian environment. Children enrolled in John Knox Preschool have the opportunity to learn at their own pace without pressure, in individual, small and large groups. Reading readiness, science, math, social studies,playtime and fun are all a part of activities in a blended environment of learning and growing. Play is essential for the preschool child with small muscle development encouraged through table top games, puzzles and blocks and large muscle development through the use of climbing equipment, exercises, skating and more. Qualified teachers are certified in CPR, 1st aid, comm. disease & child abuse recognition. They also have current background checks, medical exams and required immunizations.
