I hired Joe for my wife's 40th birthday party, which was held at a small neighborhood bar. All I can say here is the same thing I told him that night: "Joe, you made the party!" My wife says "Best Birthday ever!" And everybody in the bar that night, whether they were there for my wife's party or not, were having a blast! Thank you Joe!! more

I second all the favorable comments made in the other reviews and am hard pressed to add additional information about Joe. Nine years ago Joe came to our home for my son's third birthday and it was wonderful. We always keep an eye out for him at public events, farmers' markets, etc. His balloons, music making, and free-flowing prose are reliably entertaining. I am further struck by Joe's generosity, joy and sensitivity to the needs of his audience. Joe was part of Dine Out to Wipe Out Cancer at Laurelwood two days ago. My son who had played with Joe at his 3rd birthday party is still smiling as a twelve year old in the presence of the Amazing Joe. more

Our Open House was a huge success. We had spent over $250,000 on the inside and out of our building and couldn't wait to show it off and see what people thought. I honestly believe everyone loved it, but the first thing they all wanted to know was "who was that balloon guy? he was great!" I 1st met Joe at the Orenco Farmer's Market. We would go every week and see Joe making funky balloons for all the kids there. My little girl was about to turn 3 and she decided she wanted no one to perform at her birthday but Joe. He did not disappoint. She was simply in awe of him from the balloons to the music to the juggling (and the fire juggling!). Everyone had a great time so it was no surprise that for her 5th birthday this year she asked if she could see Mr Joe. Again he came and treated her to an extra special birthday. We see Joe perform all over the city and each time brings a sense of awe and wonder to my little girl (and now that he is getting old enough to participate my son as well). His energy, creativity and his kindness are always there for all to partake in and I can't think of any better way to spend an event than having Joe at the center of it. Fortunately for me, I'm one of the lucky few who know him and have hired him for more than one occasion. (I always book way in advance just take a look at his calendar!) Joe is nearly impossible to describe but his talent is not. Joe's energy amazes all and he never fails to entertain at any event. Never. Joe also goes through great pains to market your event appropriately using his own website and monthly newsletters. As a matter of fact, do yourself a favor right now. Get yourself on Joe's email list. His consistent monthly email missives are truly the highlight of my month. I wouldn't dream of throwing a party without Joe! My partner & I have hired Joe for countless events: outdoor festivals, club concerts, private parties, benefits & holiday gatherings. He is a top notch entertainer who elevates the fun the moment he arrives on site-- and he's just as much fun for adults as he is for kids. He juggles fire, rides a unicycle, makes the most amazing balloon art (including full-body balloon suits), spills out all sorts of fun & wacky musical instruments and noise makers and engages all of the kids (and adults too) in impromptu jams... all the while keeping up a running dialogue with the crowd that elicits smiles and laughter where ever he goes. But make no mistake, as fun and goofy as he is, he is also one of the most professional people I've worked with. He also understands the impact he has on children and uses his time with them to teach them valuable lessons & boost their self esteem-- I've actually witnessed kids thank Joe for teaching them to believe in themselves! At a past festival I met Joe Mishkin, not your average balloon man. With a voice sounding like he has been breathing too much helium, he completely entertained the children with his incredible balloon creations. Not just the simple poodle dogs here… Joe’s imagination far exceeds any child’s and he wooed them completely.
