Jim's Rv Rentals

I rented a Class A for a friend so she could attend a camping rally held in Port Orange. Neither one of us knew how to drive it. Since it was local, I asked Jim if he could deliver the RV for us as well as pick it up. By the time we arrived, everything was set up and good to go. The unit was great and our friend was ecstatic. The only thing we found wrong was that the frame was bent on the couch hide-a-bed making it a little uncomfortable to sit on. Since there were other chairs available it wasn't a big deal. Everything else was very nice. This was a special time for our friend since her husband had recently passed away and this was her first rally without him. It really helped her to be able to still be a part of our group. Jim bent over backwards to make everything run smoothly. I would definitely use his business again. more

Unfortunately as the owner I was not even aware of this review. What the customer decided not to include was the fact that all of the information was explained to his wife who booked the rental. The forms indicate what can and cannot be done with the coach. His arguement was with the standing on the roof however the roof ladder was locked out to prevent roof access and explained upon rental. The coach was delivered and set up at the racetrack and they were explained the use of the things they were using. They decided upon themselves to move the coach, which was not allowed, they damaged the roof, and the awning had to be completely replaced at a cost of over $1100.00. They have been billed and as of October 1, 2009, chose not to respond or pay for the damages they caused. \r Having been in business for nine years this is the first person that has caused such a significant amount of damage and I only kept the security deposit. Carefully go over your contract (if you arrange one) with this fella Jim. Ask specific questions and cover everything, because he does not. There was no offer of a walk thru to establish any existing damage. His lacidasical approach to running his business was frustrating. \r \r Can't use the roof of RV and he does not tell you till you arrive. We found women's underwear in the bedroom. We had to ask for the items that were advertised on his website (bedding, pots/pans,cups).\r \r Use with caution!! Pros: Convienent 1 star accomodations for Daytona Int.'l Spdwy more
