I received great service at a great price. Fair, friendly, professional, Ralph did great work! I would highly recommend their service to anyone needing engine/lawn mower work done. Again, highly pleased! more

I just had a similar experience as the review before me. I dropped off my mower to ?look over? on a Saturday, Ralph Jenkins states that the mechanic is at lunch and they will give me a call later in the day. That afternoon, I had not received a call so I decided to stop by on my way home from Athens. Raph looked puzzled at my attendance an said that they had not had a chance to look it over, but they had ?smoked it over? (whatever that means). He then said that it would be a day or two and they would call me. Wednesday comes and I still have not gotten a call. So I called at about 11:00am. An employee answers the phone and tells me that they have a fix for it and it will be ready at the end of the week (keep in mind that they have not contacted me on what was wrong with it, or what it would cost to fix it). I tell the employee not to do anything to it until I get an estimate for repair. He says OK and hangs up the phone. I then decide to ride over to the business to talk to Ralph and get a better understanding of what is going on with my mower and express my concern of them fixing it without approval from me. When I first talked to Ralph, he went into a long story about how I was in a long line of repairs and I shouldn?t be expecting my mower to be fixed right away. This is NOT what I was expecting. I told him that I didn?t care how long it took to get fixed, I wanted someone to call me to tell me what was wrong with it FIRST. He said that we had misunderstood each other. I asked him if he thought when I said ?look it over? that it meant for him to ?fix it? he stated ?honestly, yes.? If you should not do business with this person for one reason, it should be because of my previous statement. Then things turned ugly. We argued back and forth, and I admittedly threw out some cuss words. This caused my bill for diagnosis to go from $0 to $50. FINE, whatever. When I was walking out to go and get cash at an ATM (because he doesn?t take anything but cash or check), he still wanted to argue with me. So I kept arguing with him. The he said my bill would now be $75 because ?I still have your mower and I can do whatever I want.? Like he had some all powerful authority (we are talking about lawn mowers here). I told him that I would pay the $50 and nothing more. I then left and called Barrow County Sheriffs on my way to the ATM. I just wanted them there to supervise the exchange. Things were quiet and went smooth after that. more

Be Warned! 3/1/2011

This is an ""Ol' Timey"" good Ol' boy place. I had been taking our machines to this place for years until the new owner Ralph Jenkins took over. On February 15, 2011 I took my machine in and the guy tells me $50-55.00 to do the repair plus parts. Ok there's a sign that says $35.00 minimum so I?m OK with the $55.00 max on repairs. He says he will call in a couple of days. Four days go by and so I call to see what the bill is, $63 and some change. I asked him what happened with the $55.00 max. He says ""its only 8 dollars more"" then he then tells me if I don't pick up equipment today it will be a $5.00 a day charge for storage and then he hangs up the phone. Now this is the employee who hangs up the phone on me so I call back to speak with the owner (Ralph Jenkins) a devil straight from hell who was just as rude as the employee. I call the Bethlehem P.D. to accompany me to pick up the equipment. This is a bitter man who begins to lie to the Deputy denying what was said over the phone and says that I threatened him. I ended up paying a total of $63.42. I was told by the Deputy that I could refuse to pay and take him in front of the Magistrate, but who has that kind of time. It is always better to avoid these kinds of businesses if you know beforehand the type of people that are running them. more
