I don't trust the Service Deptartment 12/12/2009

I was just there to get my oil changed. The mechanic said my struts were in really bad shape. $750 for fix. I said no thanks, and drove to Les Schwab for a second opionion. They said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my struts. I asked; 'Are You Absolutely Sure?' They said there was absolutely nothing wrong with struts, alignment, balance, or anything. I trust Les Schwab. Pros: Quick & Friendly Service Cons: They try to Sell you Services you don't need. more

DON'T GET TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS BY JAY LEE 12/9/2009

I went into Jaylee Auto Group in Gladstone a year ago to get a check engine light diagnostic on my Acura. They came back and told me that my transmission was about to go out and at the most I had 2 months left on it. I asked if it could just be a light malfunction because the car seemed fine, and the tec assured me that the tests are accurate and my tranny was toast. They then asked me if i wanted to schedule a appointment to install a $3,818.52 used tranny. I told them there was no way I was going spend four thousand dollars because a light when on. Three days latter the light went out and I never had a problem with the transmission at all. I wanted to ask for a refund of my diagnostic test within a couple of months but i waited a year just to be sure the transmission was o.k. So this afternoon went in and asked a service manager please refund my 47.50 for the original test because they ether ran the test improperly, tried to screw me on purpose, or just don't know what they're doing. He refused to give me a refund on the test, to which I told him, that was fine but I was going to post a review online. He then told me I was threatening him. Gosh, if i tried to overcharge a client $4,000 for a totally unnecessary repair I might actually feel bad and be apologetic. Not so at Jaylee Honda Gladstone, this must happen a lot because the manager acted like it was no big deal to overcharge someone $4,000. All I wanted was my 47.50 back and I would have left happy thinking it was a honest mistake. He did offer me a free oil change but I to him no thanks, I'd rather write a review..... more

A seriously unethical business 8/20/2009

This business was so messed up. We went, fell in love with a car that was too expensive for us because they put on a $2,000 ""market adjustment"" above MSRP. We were discussing it when our salesperson said he was going to check on something. When he came back, he said that he checked with his supervisor and we ""didn't need to worry about the market adjustment"". That brought the price back down into our price range and we went in to sign all the papers. We were really excited and felt good about the company, deal, etc. When we started going through the paperwork, the salesperson backed up and said that the market adjustment was ""negotiable"" and that it wasn't set that it was gone. Then he checked with his supervisor again and came back and said that there's no possibility of getting that market adjustment. We were upset and told him that he straight up lied to us to get us in the door and start with the paperwork. He just shrugged his shoulders. We started to leave because we were upset and couldn't really afford the car with the $2000 added (which they already knew). We then talked about it and decided that we wanted it badly enough that we would go for it, turned around and said we were upset they lied to us but wanted the car anyways. Then they tell us that they won't sell to us now because they work hard to have a 100% customer satisfaction rating and if they let us become their customer and we weren't totally happy with their tactics, we would give negative reviews on the customer service survey and ruin their ratings. Ummmm...what?! So, they lied to us and then refused to sell us a car because we didn't like that they lied to us. It must be easy to get 100% customer satisfaction when you only let people who love you become customers. How they stay in business is beyond me. At least we didn't give them any money and actually are getting the same car at a better price (without a ""market adjustment"") from a different dealer. Pros: nothing Cons: lie to customers, rude more

Had best price, if you know how to negotiate 3/9/2009

I tried all the local Honda dealerships and ended up buying here. I recommend starting with their Internet division (use any car shopping site to contact them, for instance). The sales mgr. will try to pressure you on price, just walk out the door if they are not meeting your price. Other dealerships were quoting me 2-4k over MSRP on the Fit just because it was new and in demand. These guys were more reasonable. Pros: they understand Internet sales Cons: you still have to be a tough negotiator more

Jay Lees Honda of Gladstone was our best car buying experience EVER. 2/15/2009

I'm glad I didn't read the previous review before we went. We had the best, easiest, no-pressure car buying experience of our lives at Jay Lees Gladstone Honda. We had researched online, made an appointment, test drove and were out the door in under 2 hours. Our salesperson (Batman!) was the most low key salesperson ever, even steering us away from extras, which I've never run across. After working with him, we thought we might have a tough go with the money guy, but he was just as easy going. We went in with special circumstances (we were re-financing our home and had signed papers but no funds yet), and they were great about making it workable for us so we could leave with the car. Pros: Excellent service, low pressure sales pitch, great selection more

JAYLEE,HONDA,GLADESTONE, OREGON TOTAL RIP-OFF!, WILL NOT DISCLOSE THEIR ""140-50 POINTS OF INSPECTION AND REPAIR WHEN I ASKED, COULD NOT LEAVE TO THINK ABOUT MY PURCHASE WHICH WAS ACTU 10/6/2008

UNFAIR, UNRELENTING PRESSURE TO BUY IMMEDIATELY.THE PRICE I PAID WAS HIGHER BY SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS IN AUTOBUYER ON THE INTERNET.THIS WAS MY SAME IDENTICAL CAR, SAME VIN ID, ETC........... i HAD TO TELL THEM ABOUT IT, SO THEY GAVE ME THAT PRICE WHICH I THAN HAD NO OPPORTUNITY TO NEGOTIATE. I WASN'T ASKED. THEY SAID THIS WAS THE CAR FOR ME, PREPARED THE PAPERS, ADDED THINGS I HAD NO IDEA WHAT THEY WERE UNTIL AFTER THE FACT SEVERAL DAYS LATER. THEY JUST TOLD ME TO SIGN, AND I DID. HOW STUPID. Pros: PRESSURE, THUMBS DOWN------ Cons: SAME, NO WAY TO GO HOME FOR FURTHER RESEARCH more
