Jake's Supper Club

I ordered the broiled cod on 1/20/2012 - it came cold and uncooked inside. I sent it back - they apologized and 20 minutes later another plate of fish which was again cold inside and very tough. I paid the bill and left and will never return. Twice is not acceptable. more

Good: The holiday lights and snow covered pine trees makes this a "Holiday Inn" type restaurant experience as you drive up.. Bad: I couldn't finish my dessert! Apparently they make their own cakes and cheesecakes. My chocolate cake was more than I could handle. Next day lunch dessert for me.. Improvements: I thought the fireplace, Christmas tree and holiday decorations were perfect for the season. I would add a bit more lighting in the dining room, but the candles on the tables were fine.. Other: Glad this reopened. My wife and I found this to be just the perfect hideaway for our romantic dinners. Good wine list, nice specials and we enjoy the view of the lake, snow, pine trees and Christmas decor. Just perfect. Prices are more than reasonable. This is truly the supper club I remember as part of the Wis tradition. They even have perch fish fry on Fridays!!!!. more

Jakes has a great atmosphere coupled with excellent food. Some of the best sit down dinning to be had this side of the Twin Cities. Very freindly staff, excellent Sunday Brunch, great Fish Fry's, Ham and Jam on Thursday is fun, and right on the water for boat access, and entertainment while you dine. Prices are a bit higher then many other places in town, but compared to the quality, it is a bargain. Excellent portions, and great food - very fresh, and cooked just right. Highly reccomended. more
