Best

We love this place- it's always good place to go- it's never crowded so you can bring groups or just go in for a quick bite. It's tasty and never breaks the bank!

Worst

Not impressed whatsoever. I really wanted to like this place. It wasn't bad, but I'd rather order some chinese food instead...

I live next door and it's delicious 12/23/2008

I moved to 4th street about a month ago to find myself living next to this place called jeollado. I saw the sign for a $6.95 bento box and I was in the door. Pros: Inexpensive, delicius, fresh, atmosphere more

Still the Best 11/18/2008

I've been to many Asian restaurants like these with an extensive menu where they try to cramp in too much into one menu, please all palates. Jeollado has a nice balance of Japanese sushi and sashimi, Koresan favorites and then a hybrid of new rolls they created. Everyone will be please with their selection here. They also give you A LOT of food so you won't leave hungry. I have been coming here for about 8 years or so and never get sick of it. The bill is always reasonable. Pros: 2 for 1 rolls, lots of space, great combination of different variety of cuisine Cons: Absolutely none more

MMmmMm. Sushii 9/23/2008

some of the best sushi I've eaten in NYC! I ordered a sushi combination lunch special, which was just the right portion and price. my friends ordered a Smoked Salmon Roll , Sweet Shrimp and a few other types of sushi. everything I tried tasted very fresh and light, leaving me full but refreshed rather than stuffed. I can't wait to eat here again! more

Heaven for japanese-korean cuisine lovers!!! 5/7/2008

Off the busy streets of St. marks I found this cozy japanese-korean fusion restaurant where the word excellence is written all over it. Pros: Everything! more

Great roll, sushi & enjoyable party room 4/9/2008

With pretty good impression at my first time visiting, I went this restaurant last week. Again, it was great. The staff was helpful & kindful. Their food was delicious. Especially, I recommend 'spicy tuna roll' and 'pan-fried Kimchi' Since I don't like sushi or roll very much, I haven't ordered that kind of dishes. Pros: cheap price, quite & huge space, kindness service, delicious food more

Great Japanese-Korean Restaurant!!!! 4/7/2008

One of my friend recommended this place, so I checked it out last weekend with some of my friends. And what can I say, it was great. The food was real good(cheap too), the service was excellent(mostly waitresses and like one waiter, but they were all friendly and nice), and the owner seemed like a really nice guy. I usually avoid going to a fusion restaurant as the food is usually not as good as the authentic ones that specialize in one type of food. However, this Japanese-Korean restaurant was by far the best fusion restaurant I've ever been to. All in all, if you want to eat both Japanese and Korean food, then I highly recommend this place. Pros: Great food and friendly service more

Great Birthday Party!~ 1/19/2008

I had my birthday party here last night and it was a blast! The staff was very accomdating and helpful. I originally booked the room from 9-12 then called and asked for the room to be extended to 1am, which they said was fine. When I called to confirm the night before, they told me they closed at midnight (?!). When I expressed my disappointment with this last minute notice (and I only found out because I called THEM) they agreed to stay open for the extra hour just for me, as long as they could close the kitchen. I feel they redeemed themselves and showed great customer service. more

fresh cheap sushi, trendy, great restaurant 12/31/2007

this past weekend i took my friends to jeollado (our best new discovery as of yet downtown.) upon entering the restaurant, we were not forced to wait and were seated promptly. the cartoon style artwork, video art played by the projection and the longevity of the restaurant, creates a casually cool, trendy, and modern atmosphere. the service is excellent- the wait staff is very attentive and the owner is a pretty cool guy. for dinner, we ordered the house rolls off the menu and asked the owner for his own recommendations, at which he continuously sent out both innovative korean and japanese fusion dishes. Absolutely Delicious and Ridiculously Cheap! My favorite part of the night was when we were used into the karaoke/ party room in the back. Dimly light by a hanging disco ball and tiny lights circumnavigating a pole, and greeted by large anime characters painted upon the wall, the karaoke room boasts over 2,000 songs!! i was surprised to find old time favorites by stevie wonder and cher interspersed with my favorite pop artists beyonce and britney spears! the staff once again was very attentive, quick to supply us with drinks as we made a fool of ourselves belting out to madonna's ""material girl."" i was told that just last month, penelope cruz and her entourage graced the karaoke/party room herself (pretty awesome!) overall my experience was a two thumbs up! i cant wait for next weekend to relive this experience all over again. Pros: house rolls, non sushi dishes such as soft tofu stews and korean pancakes, karaoke/party room Cons: none!! more

Not bad 6/2/2007

I have been comming here for a while ever since the old sandobe on 11th closed down. The price is still good for the wallet but i have to say that the quality & the taste has reached rock botttom. Service has gone better but i think ""Cherin"" on 6th has by far better quality & taste ..those crab rolls taste better & are infact more cheaper too..i can only be back to jeollado when i have a huge group of frens to drink their $1 hot sake.. Pros: big space like that of a parking lot Cons: terrible food more

Best... place.. 3/7/2007

My friend recommanded to visit this place. Pros: good price, good food.. Cons: Cash only.... more

Awesome karaoke room, great service 2/26/2007

I had my birthday party there this past weekend and I can't say enough good things about it. The karaoke room was HUGE, holding up to 45 people with a big projection screen for lyrics (song selection wasn't very extensive, but definitely enough motown, classics and pop to satisfy..no Bel Biv Devoe though!?). Nice anime paintings on the wall too. Sushi was tasty and affordable. Pros: quality place with no need for pretense - easy to have a good time Cons: no credit cards? we would've spent more! more

So fresh! 10/28/2006

I really like this place alot- they have a huge selection of rolls and large servings. The owner is a really nice guy and service is always great. The ambiance is cool too. more

great sake selection 10/25/2006

Jeollado has a great selection of standard japanese and korean food which they execute well. Nothing too fancy, but what they do is keep things simple and fresh. However i was really surprised at their awesome selection of sake. They realy went all out to gather as many types and trying them all with different foods is exciting. The staff were very helpful and kind as well. Will definatly go back. Pros: cheap, fresh and good sake selection Cons: too quiet more

Good food at great price. 9/4/2006

If you have chance to go East Village, try Jeollado. Wasn't crowded at that time, maybe that's why I Pros: Prompt service, great price more

Dependable and cheap 6/1/2005

What do I like about Jeollado? I like the 2 for 1 rolls (sometimes 3 for 1) the prices and the variety on the menu. What don't I like? The rolls are tiny so you have to order more anyway and they will often get your order wrong if you stray from the menu. For the money, it's a dependable and fun place to get sushi - bring friends and share the 2 for 1 rolls (they have to be 2 of the same.) Pros: cheap, good variety Cons: service, orders wrong more

Interesting Korean-Japanese fare 3/22/2005

This place is a great deal for the price and the food they give you. Crab rolls are made with real crab, not the imitation crab. They also have a great unagi bim bim bap that you must order. Go here if you want a little bit of Korean combined with a little bit of Japanese food. Place is casual, not fancy. more

Good in a pinch 7/7/2004

Short of cash, with a big group, starving? This is the place. Okay, not the most delicate or delectible, but absolutely satisfying and the sake is cheap too. Portions are pretty amazing- especially the Amy roll for $8- damn thats a lot of food for $8. And the Jeollado (seaweed) salad- sometimes I get take-out somewhere else and go get that salad to be healthy and fill me up. All in all a great place, but not the most refined. Oh, also a pretty good scene, lots of people to look at. more

Best neighborhood sushi, period 3/6/2004

There may be nicer places, or cheaper places, but Jeollado is probably the best cheap sushi in New York City. Jeollado's ""house rolls"" are definitely a popular draw. They are damned good. You just have to try it for yourself. I've been to Jeollado a bunch of times, and the fish is nearly always fresh. But I must admit I have stumbled on a couple of un-fresh days, but they are rare. The wait staff is nice, but they are kind of inattentive. The atmosphere is like a cafeteria, so it's not romantic. However the casual atmosphere comes in handy if you want a good place to drop in and get food. It's not a place to impress a date. But it's perfect place to meet with someone for good-tasting sushi when a ""restaurant-y"" place would be too much for casual dining. Pros: Great sushi, Low price Cons: Not good for dates, Inattentive service more

  • The Scene
When it opened in the late 90s, the garage-like space of Jeodallo looked almost futuristic. Now, with space-age noodles shops popping up like Starbucks, it seems almost quaint....
