I remember eating at the Orem location of the Italian Place back in '96. I was working construction and my boss took us there for lunch. The sandwich was ok, a little bland, and not very big and I remember thinking I spent way to much. Well, what prompted this review was that I noticed they had opened a few more stores and figured they must be pretty good and had some improvement to be doing so well....I was wrong. I went to the Spanish Fork location and right off the bat I didnt like the place. It was small and cramped and I couldnt figure out why there were Italian flags and decor everywhere (werent these things invented in Philadelphia?) I am in fact pretty sure that the Cheesesteak is one of the few foods Americans can claim as completely their own, and this place has Italy written all over it. So I am confused as I step to the counter and ask for a foot long cheesesteak, they tell me they dont have one..???what?! Apparently its 10 inches, so Im already getting jipped 2 inches and then they ring me up at like 12 dollars with chips and a lousy 22 oz drink!! it was over nine bucks for a 10 inch!\r
So I sit down, assuming I am about to get an awesome sandwich and be stuffed to the rafters. No, I got what I would call a very average sandwich, nothing similar to an authentic cheesesteak, and I downed it in two minutes and was still very hungry. The funny part is that I told one of my co workers about this and he said ""yeah, when I do on occasion go there, my 6 year old downs their ""monster"" sandwich like its nothing. Hey, Italian Place owners, if you read this I would like to suggest either making your monster big enough to earn the name, or calling it by some sort of smaller sounding name. \r
I hope this review isnt to harsh, but its not very often that I feel as totally ripped off as I did when I went there.
Pros: Clean restaurant
Cons: everything but the cleanliness
