This is place is pretty much the same as every other Irish pub in New York (of which there are many), with the exception of three things that make it stand out: (1) It's not on Restaurant Row. 44th Street doesn't get nearly as much traffic as 46th, so you're less likely to run into the loud and rowdy tourist types. (2) It's roomy! There are two floors, and each comes with enough space to put your claustrophobic grandpa at ease. And last but not least, (3) There are squishy couches on the second floor! And if you catch the place on a night when the second floor isn't reserved for a private party (as it sometimes is), it's all yours.
