Dr. Renan is excellent....?? Whoever wrote that he won't deliver your baby on the weekend and that only he & the mother are allowed to speak in the delivery room are hugely and laughably mistaken. I'm guessing those were written by people who never actually had him deliver their babies. Dr. Renan delivered my baby in the middle of the night on a Saturday and did an incredible job. He also checked on me every day I was in the hospital (Friday night through Monday afternoon). He, the nurse, my husband and I all participated in my son's delivery which occurred with no tearing nor episiotomy. He was also my fertility doctor and he went way above and beyond the call of duty for me meeting me in his office on the weekend to perform a fertility procedure because it had to be done on that particular date. He gave me his personal cell phone number so that I could reach him at any time with any problems or questions I might have. His staff is incredible. They've never rushed me off the phone or ...? They've never rushed me off the phone or out the door. Neither has he. I will go out of my way to make sure that he delivers all of my future children even if my insurance makes it more expensive. He has an excellent reputation at St. Joseph's Medical Center for delivering babies while keeping the mother's perineum in tact which is unfortunately rare these days. I know that some people find his bedside manner to be a bit gruff but he cares greatly about his patients and has never been the least bit rude to me.
