Thanksgiving Dinner was a disaster! 11/29/2009

We reserved a place for a large group of people weeks in advance for the Thanksgiving dinner. We got there a few minutes before the time we were supposed to be there, but we were seated 45 minutes later without being offered any drinks from the bar. After we were seated we ordered the food from the fixed Thanksgiving menu, and a few minutes later we were told that they ran out of a few selections on the menu, so five of us had to change their selection. So far we were still ok and just enjoyed our time together, but the first course came ONE HOUR later(!) – 1:45 minutes after we got to the restaurant… The food was not very good, and there was no stuffing served with the turkey – we don’t know if they ran out of that or they just didn’t include it with the Thanksgiving dinner. In addition, they ran out of bread rolls during our long wait for the meal, and we were served toasted old bread instead. The diet soda was flat and they brought us two more servings before they switched it to a bottled drink. We asked for the manager but he NEVER came to talk to us. The server was very nice and tried to do his best under the circumstances, and we even tipped him extra for his efforts. They did waive the charge for the drinks (a few sodas and a glass of wine) and gave us complimentary champagne, but we feel that a sincere apology from the manager in person would have been the right thing to do. We did not let that ruin our night, but it is a shame that we have to share this with others – we will not go back there. Yes, the place is nice, but that's it. more

Rude and Obnoxious 6/1/2008

Went for a nice Sunday Brunch, the place is very nice looking, walked inside and was greeted by 3 of the rudest hostesses. I am always surprised that restaurants put the most unqualified rude people up front to make the first impression a negative one. I asked for a table for two, she asked if I had a reservation, I looked around the totally empty room and said “no”. Then she went around and asked everybody she could find if we could eat, again the place is empty. She told me we would have to sit outside, (also empty) found the one dirty table and tossed the menus down. After a bit no one came around, I got up and left. Called the manager and she said, “oh well, sorry”. The place is pretty, the prices are high and the service is bad. more

Great food, stellar service 7/13/2005

The Inn at Brookeville Farms had great food, although I did not find myself as impressed as I had hoped by the food. Maybe it was the prices and the service, both high, led me to hope for a unique dining experience, but I only found myself satisfied with my meal. That's enough for me to go back again, but not enough for me to go back frequently. I recommend trying it, but don't expect it to be among the best meals you've ever had. more
