I lived in a property managed by this company. That experience was mediocre, but after I moved out, getting my security deposit back was a nightmare.
Before moving out, I provided my forwarding address (twice). 30 days after move-out, I called IAG since I had not received my deposit. They told me that the check had been sent to my old address because they didn't have a forwarding address on file. I informed them that I had provided it twice and requested that a new check be sent to my updated address. 3 weeks later, I still had not received a check so I called again. IAG couldn't explain what happened so I offered to go to the office in person to pick up the check.
I scheduled the visit for a Monday morning. When I arrived, IAG told me that they had emailed me saying that they couldn't issue a new check because they couldn't place holds on the previous checks sent. I immediately checked my email, but there was nothing from IAG. They eventually located the check at my old apartment. However, no one in the office had the authority to write a new check, so they gave me the options of driving to my old apartment or waiting for someone with sufficient authority to arrive. I chose the former option. I drove over and finally got my deposit. This was 55 days after I moved out and after I drove 60 miles around Los Angeles while missing a half day of work.
When I arrived at my old apartment, I spoke with the property manager there who assured me he had sent my forwarding address to the corporate office. In summary, my experience with company was extremely poor. They are disorganized and do not value their tenants' time. I would not live in a building managed by this company again.
