GREAT 5/16/2015

I have used the college for a number of services since discovering it and have always been very pleasantly impressed with the staff, students and instructors. The students are professional, courteous and well-trained and supervised. I like the prices because I would not be able to afford the services I have done at the college if I had to pay full price. I especially like the facials. What a treat! I highly recommend them. more

Great School 5/5/2015

My Mother took me to the Independence College of Cosmetology as a young girl for hair cuts. We go there to this day and are always satisfied with the results of our new styles. The staff is friendly and the Cohoon family is so interesting. We still see the original founder, Don Cohoon there and he always makes us feel like we are so appreciated. This type of service is hard to find these days. more

Great school! 3/5/2014

Independence College of Cosmetology gave me a great start to my profession in the styling industry. I felt prepared and confident when I graduated and ready to take on clients immediately. The classes are informative and give you the knowledge you need to be a great stylist. The curriculum used is highly regarded and will prepare you well to take boards. I have referred countless aspiring stylists over my nine years in the industry to their amazing program. Highly recommend! more

I Owe My Success to This School :) 3/1/2011

I have attended this school and have nothing but great things to say. I took Susan's esthetics course, along with the CIDESCO test. Not only did I meet some amazing people that I'm friends with for life, I have been successful in this industry because of Susan's curriculum and CIDESCO. Every esthetics student that goes to ICC has the option to not take CIDESCO, I feel sorry for those who don't. While there is prep and effort for this test, it is one day out of your life. It's more than worth it... this credential got me a job in Miami, FL at one of the most prestigious resort spas in the city. Can you say $$$? I am about ready to jump out of my skin in excitement and feeling of accomplishment! And, I'm still in my early 20's :) \r Not only is Susan a fabulous teacher who has a deep passion for the skin care industry, she is making your future better! Everything she says is valuable!\r People need to realize that your life is what you make it, and positive thinking is what will get you so more

horrible school 2/15/2010

his school is absolutely awful!!! i went there, trust me, i know...the instructors and owners treat everyone like incompetent idiots..they do not enjoy their jobs and do not like to get up to help you with anything..the owner, linda clifford, has a constant sarcastic devilish smile that is sickening...she answers your questions with that smile and talks to you like you are retarded. they teach you only the basics, nothing more...the clients haven't showered in weeks, and you will be lucky to do colors, highlights, and cute cuts...the clientele there only wants mullets, have greasy flaky hair, or are old women wanting perms and roller sets. if you do one thing wrong, they will send you home...and they don't have the decency to listen to your side of anything...i'm honestly surprised they are still in business. no one could possibly recommend this school..i am soooo happy i am out of there!!! one girl got terminated when she had 15 days left of school and once you miss 100 hours you more

DON'T GO TO SCHOOL HERE! 5/4/2009

I went to school here and it was awful. I am just letting people know before they spend a ton of money at a bad school, I wish someone had told me! There are only 3 instructors for about 50 students and only ONE of them does an excellent job, but when she's busy, who do you have to ask for help? One of the other 2 instructors who can't teach a thing and clearly don't want to. They act like the students, thinking that being snoughty and rude and giving the students an attitude is what i paid $14,000 to go to school for. They would rather send you home than EVER give you a break or LISTEN to anything you have to say. i would be surprised if anyone referred this school. i'm soooo happy to be outta there!! more
