I pass by In Style Hair Salon at least four times a week and it looked intriguing, but it took a $5 off coupon on my Winn-Dixie receipt to actually get me in there. I am SO glad it did, though!
In Style is located in the Riverside Village Shopping Center on Shirley Avenue between Blanding and Hamilton, just north of San Juan. It's a small storefront but it's decorated quite nicely and is bigger than it looks from the outside.
My stylist was Margaret and she was friendly without being overly perky or forcedly talkative. The stylist at the salon I had been to prior to In Style had not cut off near as much hair as I had wanted, but Margaret took the time to get a clear understanding of what I wanted and talk to me about my hair type and how it would end up looking. She ended up leaving it just a tiny bit longer than I had wanted but it was more than fine and looked great.
The best part? This great cut was only $12 (because of the coupon)!! Now, 6 weeks later, it's time for a trim to keep my cut in shape and for once I'm actually looking forward to returning to a hair salon.
The only reason they did not get 5 stars is that they never answer their phone. Ever. If I didn't work so near them I probably would have given up in frustration because I tried calling them umpteen times and it kept going to the machine. So I suggest you do a walk-in at first, or if you're patient, then give them a call.
