I like to gauge ethnic restaurants by how many ethnic people are dining there. If there are a lot of Chinese people in a Chinese restaurant, then it must be good, if there are a lot Indian people in an Indian restaurant...you get my point. There was one Chinese family in this particular restaurant and it must've been their family.
The menu was like a typical Chinese take out menu. You?re better off buying from a take out place!! The menu even said that The New York Times rated it the best in L.I.. SO HARD TO BELIEVE!
Ok, so we order a beef dish that included Chinese broccoli and vegetables, a crispy shrimp dish and the 10 ingredient pan fried noodles. The beef dish had absolutely NO FLAVOR and it came with regular broccoli, not the long , stringy, crunchy Chinese broccoli that I know and love. The crispy shrimp was not crispy at all and the shrimp tasted old, salty and it was very rubbery. The woman brought over a dish of plain lo mien and when I asked her if it was the pan fried noodles she said yes. Then I told her that it looks like lo mien, she said it is. I don't get it. I think she thinks I'm dumb (I'm Asian, I know what pan fried noodles look like and even if I wasn't Asian, there wasn't even 9 other ingredients in it..IT WAS PLAIN!) So she takes it back and we waited 20 minutes for our order. Luckily the dish was only 1/2 decent. My boyfriend and I went home hungry and agreed that Imperial Wok was the worst Chinese food we ever had our whole life.
Don't bother going here. The service sucked and the food was just as equivalent to their service.
Pros: There's great parking
Cons: Everything
