Never had a problem in 15 years 1/17/2008

We've been taking our dogs here for over 15 yrs. The staff is well aquainted with our pets and have sent condolences cards when our dogs have eventually passed from age-related complications. \r I have called Dr Sillers in the middle of the night for one of our dogs and he was very polite, even tho you could tell the man was obviously very tired. \r As for prices - MUCH better than what I pay in Flint & Clinton Twp for my little pocket pets. We never have to wait very long, and the staff is always very polite. \r As for recent turn over, people age, people retire. I think it just so happens a few of the vets on staff decided to retire in a fairly close time fram. There was also recently a very unfortunate and unavoidable loss with one of their vets. more

Would Not Recommend 12/7/2007

I have encountered frequent problems here. There is a lack of familiarity with your pet even if you have been coming for years. Minimum standards of care are often neglected and they tend to be careless. The charting is poor and inaccurate, things like current weight are never kept up with on the records. There is a high turnover of Doctors. They have receptionists call with test results instead of the Doctors, they will put you on hold multiple times to relay your questions about test results etc..., but the Doctor never comes to the phone. One of their receptionists is really snippy. They do not know basic things, like you never give a rabbit penicillin. Their prices are high given the quality of care they provide. Maybe they are good with farm animals, I don't know but do your house pets a favor and go somewhere else. more

Okay if you don't have an emergency 7/5/2006

I was pretty happy with this clinic. The doctor I saw seemed to know what he was doing and the staff was very nice.Their yellowpages ad states they have 24 hour emergency service for established clients, which was one reason we went to them. However, we called their emergency number on two separate occasions and never heard back from anyone either time. Once I could understand, sort of, but twice, no way. The second time, if we hadn't found another vet who was open our cat would have died a painful, traumatic death. Thanks to the responsive vet, he was able to pass peacefully. We will never step foot in there again. PROS: Convenient location CONS: Non-responsive to emergencies more

Very good large and small animal care. 7/27/2005

When I moved to the country 26 years ago I was referred to these vets by a friend. Over the years the practice has changed and grown. Compared to other vets their prices are much less for in house services. For farm calls they set the pace in this community. The thing I like best about them is that they don't just want your money. They want to educate you so that you can handle many of the basic animal needs yourself. The office staff is always cheerful and anxious to help and there is always something in the waiting area that makes it feel less sterile and more pet friendly. PROS: affordable pricing CONS: more

Good 6/14/2005

The people who work at the Imlay City Vet are very nice and friendly. However, their prices are pretty expensive. They charge thirty dollars and up for office visits. more
