My ignition cylinder was broken. There was no issue when the key was taken out of the ignition the night before. Then the key only went in halfway. This was the second time an issue of this nature occurred on this vehicle. The first time the tow driver was able to allow the key to get into the ignition and turn. This time, the key would not turn after the tow driver unjammed the tumblers in the cylinder.
The explanation I was given was that sometimes the weight of your keys can throw the tumblers out of alignment. I would have a better time buying into that if my keys weighed less than the watch on my wrist.
Then to tell me your last loaner went off the lot minutes before I walked in, and the best you could do was a rental because you won't be able to get the parts for 4 days?!
Yeah, I'll come here first thing when I decide to get rid of this car in another year or two.
