Great midtown place 12/19/2011

I threw a surprise party for my fiance. The owners and staff could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. I approached the owners a month before the party and they as helpful as I could have asked for. It was a busy Saturday night during the holiday season and I can't believe how well everything went. The second floor party room was perfect for the 40 or so guests that came to celebrate. The appetizers that were brought out by the wait staff were perfect. They even lit the candles, cut the cake that we brought, and served it to the guests. Some of the guests even ordered their own dinners, which were brought out right away. Bartender was excellent too! Thanks to Paul and Ann for a great evening with friends and family! more

Very Impressed 11/28/2010

I was very impressed with Hurley's. The food, beer, and service were great. First the beer...Pros-they have a large selection of draft beers. Cons-a little pricey at $6.25 per pint, but this is New York City. Food...The Lobster Bisque was very good and had chunks of crab meat in it. I had the Yellow Fin Tuna, which was prepared exactly as I asked. My wife had the Tuscan half chicken, which she said was excellent. My son had the Berry Hill chicken, which I tasted, and was very good. The pricing for the food was way below what I expect to pay in NYC, especially with the size of the portions they serve. The total bill for our meal and drinks came to $99...2 soups, 3 entrees, 4 draft beers and a coke. Server... Our server was right on top of everything. We never had to wait for anything. If and when I return to NYC, I will definitely return to Hurley's more

The Stars shine Bright in Hurleys 6/18/2010

Sunday night after the Tony Awards this was the place to be, it was packed with stars. The whole cast from ""La Cage aux Folles""including Kelsey Grammar, Douglas Hodge, Liev Schreiber with Naomi Watts, Kate Blanchett, Chris Noth, Vera Wang and Scarlett Johansson. I never seen so many people in one place Pros: Great all around place especially the outdoor patio more

Walked Past 100 Places That Would Have Been Better 1/21/2009

We had done the chain restaurant thing in Times Square the night before and wanted a good only in NYC place and after walking all around Times Square/ Theatre District and passing literally 100 restaurants or more we settled on Hurley's. The waiter was really hard to understand and I'm pretty well travelled. We were given the upstairs menu even though we were seated in the downstairs dining room, where you can certainly hear patrons speaking bar room speak. We have a 9 year old. We were last to be seated at 7 45, only other table was leaving as we came in. Other spots in the neighborhood were packed as you looked through the window, you can't tell at Hurley's until your in the door. Pros: Pub Food Cons: Not a Fine Dining Restaurant more

Big BURGERS.... 10/28/2008

I love Hurley Burgers, you definitely have to eat one on an empty stomach or else it will not fit. Good crowd during football games, only thing is the bartender is a Steelers fan, GO SKINS!!!! Pros: BURGERS AND FRIES Cons: Steelers more

Hurley's Is Awesome 9/17/2008

I always loved Hurley's. I used to go to their original place at 49th St & 6th Ave (Rockerfeller Center).Hurley's is still good.Friendly staff and people.Service is great also. The food is great.Loved the wings and the Hurley Burger is just awesome.Whenever I get up to Manhattan,I always try to make a special stop there..When you are in Manhattan, make sure you stop by.You'll be glad you did. Pros: Great Food & Service.Great Crowd Cons: $5.00 is a little steep for a domestic pint of draft, but I understand its in Manhattan more

Top bar staff 5/18/2008

I walked into this place a year and a half ago and continue to return as often as I can. The staff are excellent, friendly, courteous, professional & very accomodating. Excellent cocktails, very inventive shots, good beers, great food (Hurley's burger is a got to try). Crowd varies depending upon what time you go to visit, it's close to Times Sq so there's a transient tourist trade, there's a traders bank on the corner so there's a lively after work gathering and it plays most big games so always some fans congregating there. Sometimes lively, sometimes low-key, but always a pleasant experience...go along & say Hi to Ben in the evenings. Pros: Burgers, staff, local crowd & atmosphere Cons: Can sometimes get a little busy & toilet flush is a bit awkward in the gents more

The food we ordered for dinner was great!! The service was exceptional!! 10/5/2007

My girlfriends & I were visiting NYC to celebrate our 50th B'Day's. We had passed by earlier in the week after a play. It looked like a cool place to go for a drink. 4 of us spent part of our evening there & had a ""great"" time!! Stephen, our bartender, made some great drinks!! We would recommend the ""Cheesecake"" & the ""Livingroom"". He makes a great Margarita as well~~ He made the evening a lot of fun & was willing to put up with a few ""crazy"" 50yr. olds!! We returned the next evening & enjoyed a ""wonderful"" dinner upstairs. The service was impeccable. Our food was great! We loved the decor! I wish we had a great bar/restaurant in San Diego Co. like Hurley's. Thanks for a great memory~ I recommend this bar/restaurant to everyone. Maybe next time they'll have a NASCAR race on~~ Pros: Stephen our bartender & our waiter's the following night. Their hats & juke box too! Cons: non more

A feel like home corner pub with better food 4/7/2007

I was very happy I made a visit to this wonderfull pub! I dropped in to watch the hockey game and have a couple pints and talk to the two pleasent staff. My wife joined me in Ny for the weekend so I brought her in for a drink and she also like the comfortable atmosphere and the friendly staff. With all the restaruants and pubs around we ended up coming back for dinner. Pros: Lot's of TV placed comfortably for the bar and bar table patrons to see Cons: Watch that nastsy little step when leaving :-) more

Don't go 12/21/2006

Great Place To Go!!! 8/8/2005

This is the ""Cheers"" of New York, whether you've ever been there or not. Everyone is welcomed in as family. The food, drinks and service are clearly among the best in the city. During our meal, the management came over and checked on us and even bought us a round of drinks. While I'm not sure that this happens all the time-this is the kind of treatment that buys repeat business! Pros: Service, Food, Ambience more

Bravo! 6/12/2005

On a recent Sunday afternoon, a friend and I accidently found this great restaurant on our way to see the pulitzer prize winning play DOUBT. This was the perfect quiet, relaxing, and delicious accompaniment to our afternoon of theater. The chicken pot pie is excpetiona, the cheeseburger huge and delictable, and the service professional wan warm. With so many poor experiences to be had in the theater district, is truly an excellent find! We will return many times for this oasis in mid-town. more

BEST PLACE EVER 4/5/2005

Hurley's is like ""Cheers"" where everyone knows your name and they are ACTUALLY glad you came. Try the crunchy tuna, it is to die for. Try everything for that matter, it is all good. I have been going there since it opened and I can't get enough. Pros: Staff, Food, Great Place more
