We walked in at around 6pm. The sign said wait to be seated, so we waited. The waitress told us to sit anywhere and she'd be with us in a minute. We sat and waited, eyed the menus on the counter and took two since it was already obvious she wasn't going to give them to us anytime soon. It was another 10 minutes until our orders were taken and we received our water. I went to the restroom in the meantime. The trash was overflowing and it was completely disgusting.
There was only one waitress on duty, and I pitied her. She was nice enough and she really tried, but I'm marking the restaurant down for not staffing more heavily for a 2 story restaurant.
So were had to catch the 6:50 ferry and it was 6:25 and still no food. We caught the waitress and asked her to tell the kitchen to make ours to-go. Good thing we did. By the time we got our food, paid, and out the door it was after 6:30. Right as we walked down the sidewalk to fetch our bikes, we heard the announcement for foot passengers to start boarding. Good thing we got it to-go!
It's just a little ridiculous that it took nearly 40 minutes to get our food in a diner joint. I will say that the food was pretty decent. We both had burgers and they were delicious as far as greasy spoons go. The fries were awful. Overcooked and completely soggy. Ugh.
Bottom line: I would go back here for a decently priced burger, but don't go here if you're in a hurry. If you do go here, get your food to go and eat it by the docks. And skip the fries (they're a $1.50 more anyway).
Pros: Good burgers
Cons: Service, fries, cleanliness
