Great food. The wait says it all! 2/5/2009

You know you've come to the right spot when your country is in a massive recession and you're still waiting over an hour for a table. This place is amazing EVERY time. I have been about once every two weeks for the last year or so since I moved to Atlanta... and what a treat. Their fish is simply stunning and the Filet melts in your mouth. Food times NEVER run over 15 minutes and the service is top notch. I was so proud to bring my family in when they were coming from out of town. There were 9 of us and the had to seat us at two separate tables because their tables do not move. I LOVE THAT! I cannot STAND going into a restaurant and seeing things all moved around and botched up. It's so low rent. Anyhow, we had several appetizers, some sushi, which was DEVINE as always. Everyone had a steak and cocktails, several for me. It's amazing how well run this place is. The new GM, Jacob is so kind and friendly. He came by at the end of the meal, asked how our server was, excellent as always. Truly a great place to dine in Atlanta ESPECIALLY in these hard times. You always know what you're going to get at Houston's. A special thatnks to Jason for making the evening so wonderful. \r Pros: AMAZING service, food and drink. Cons: Parking can become hard to find at lunch. Not their fault though. more

Overpriced--do yourself a favor and go to Outback or Chili's or anywhere else. 1/6/2008

We made reservations (and still had to wait) for 8 people, we actually only had 7 people and a baby. As for the atmosphere: They sat us at the smallest round table they had--they had us squeezed right up against a wall (and the tables don't move), and they couldn't even fit all the chairs around the table. There was barely enough room for all of our foods and drinks--and we didn't even have an appetizer taking up room. In fact, when the entrees came (right after the salads were put out) we had to turn in our salads just to make room, and we were almost in the laps of the people at the tables to either side of us. As for the decor, we couldn't see any of it because the lighting was non-existent. I mean to say that it was literally so dark that I had to take out my pocket flashlight to read the menu, no kidding, and could barely see the faces of the people I was eating with. On a good note, the chairs were comfortable. Moving on to the service: Our waitress was nice and polite, she knew the menu well. But, the menu was very very small, and I mean to say they had a very little variety or choice in anything. We are always ones to get and share appetizers and deserts, and they didn't have anything any of us wanted. In fact, the only things any of us ordered for entrees were things she had to explain to us that were not listed on the menu at all, and, personally, none of the sides that came with it were really anything I wanted. They don't even have sweet iced tea. Now how can you have a restaurant in Atlanta and not bother to serve sweet iced tea? Because we ALL know that unsweet tea with sugar packets is NOT the same thing. At any rate the service was very confused and got most of our food wrong. My crab cakes had many bits of shell in them, and they completely forgot the avacado for my fiance's salad. In the end it was $300 for the 7 of us to eat, with no alcohol, appetizers, or deserts, and of course the already-added 18% gratuity. All-in-all, not worth the hype or $. Pros: Fancy-Pants Ambience, High-Class Food Cons: Way Overpriced, Too crowded, Very Little Selection more

Personalized and Friendly Service 9/12/2007

I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of food here. My favorite is the Thai Steak Salad - which is far above anything you would think of ""salad""! It includes fresh mango and avacado slices. My mouth waters everytime I drive by. The bone-in pork had to be nearly 2"" thick and absolutely fabulous. You *must* order the corn and white bean dish - the sweet corn is cut off the cob fresh every morning. To top off the wonderful food is the personalized friendly service. My only disappointment is the full bar does not have any liqueurs e.g. Bailey's Irish Cream. These would make nice after-dinner treats. And I really think they could add some dessert coffee drinks. Pros: Food is fabulous, Service is outstanding Cons: No liqueurs or after-dinner coffee drinks more

Skip the Sushi! 1/4/2007

This is the only Houston's in Atlanta which serves sushi and I had heard amazing things about it, however, was quite disappointed!!! They tried too hard to make it creative by throwing in too many ingredients...especially cilantro. Cilantro in sushi?!?!....my thoughts exactly! They would be much better off sticking to the basics- ""simple is better"" The rest of the restaurant is like any other Hoston's which is great but skip the sushi especially is you are an experienced sushi lover! Pros: Atmospher Cons: Sushi more

Amazinng 3/5/2004

This is by far one of the greatest restaurants/grills ever. Honestly, if you are looking for probably the best cheeseburger that you'll ever have, this is the place to be. Not to mention the appetizers, they're amazing. Go for the cheese/spinach dip, as well as the smoked salmon which they smoke themselves. It's an amazing treat. Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Service more

veggies unite 2/12/2003

Not from Atlanta - needed place to eat lunch - did not know anything about Houston's. Am not a vegetarian but ordered the homemade veggie burger and upon recommendation by waitress the braised red cabbage with goat cheese. Daughter got the burger with homemade fries. Food was absolutely delicious - melt in your mouth. Enough to split with another light eater. Will eat here when in Atlanta again. Pros: food, easy to find, service Cons: noisy more
