My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 30+ years (different owners and building, but same location). The setting is second to none and we always have loved it. It was our go-to place when a friend came to visit (in addition to dinners out and snowmobiling stops).
We will never return.
My almost 70 year old father was unable to eat a very, very spicy chili and returned it. When the bill came, he was charged half price. He asked for the owner and was told ""well I can't resell it"". Seriously? The owner was extremely rude and provoking. At one point he said ""just give me the bill"" to which my father responded that he would not expect any type of refund on all of the food that was eaten (and enjoyed). He simply questioned why an establishment would charge half price for something that was sent back to the kitchen. He actually asked my father if he wanted to go outside. Not kidding! The owner appears to be in his early 40s and he wanted to fight my 70yo dad over the $3? He claimed it was because he didn't want his child to hear the word a$$hole. Total lie. They were not even in earshot. But I digress......
The bottom line is that a place that is rude to a customer and can't take a bowl of chili off a check because it had to be sent back, is a place that will NEVER get our money again.
I strongly suggest you find another place to eat.
**Based on the comments from other websites, I'm fully prepared for the snarky and unprofessional retort that will be followed by the owner or representative of the Hotel Manor. It only will further my point of how rude they are.
