Just go to thrift stores 10/8/2010

I would give this a good review, but as a preppy person I walked into this store and the owner was cocky about knowing vintage clothing. You never know who you're going to run into. If you want to find what they have at better prices, just shop the Value Villages in Charlotte, or typically Atlanta which I've seen them shopping as well. There's actually 11 Value Villages there and their stores are bigger and better. More Salvation Army's and Goodwills as well along with multiple other locally owned thrift stores. These guys don't have the cream of the crop vintage, mainly because Charlotte thrift stores are getting tapped out by unemployed wannabe ebay sellers. more

Everyone must check out the new loctaion 7/7/2009

The new location is so all that.I LOVE it! Pros: The best design, well lite, afordable, helpful more

cool girly stuff mostly, but I liked it too,,, 7/1/2009

Very nice staff, a bunch of cool stuff to look at. The store is very organized. Don't know if they were employee or owner, but the person working was very nice. Pros: my girl will look awesome in all of it! Cons: she would look even better out of it:) more

Cool new store in a very cool neighborhood 7/1/2009

Very cool merchandise and merchandising. The whole neighborhood was awesome, although some places I wanted to visit were closed on Wednesdays. I will come back on the weekend to spend the day when I get paid. The pretty blond girl working there was very sweet also. Even though I did not buy anything today, I will go back soon. Pros: great prices on cool retro stuff more

They always have something waiting just for me 2/28/2009

I can buy at least 3 things for the price of 1 at the junk shop called Century up the street.People dont be rude about the name here,i' rather fond of it.I wish this place was bigger and had more furniture i buy clothing here thats clean and if they had sofas i bet they would be clean also. That means alot because if i want a furry dog hair couch from the mid century shop i'll find one in the alley and i think i saw one in that alley by that shop.Anyway i find Hong Kong to be the best shop for vintage around anymore in Charlotte.Sorry you guys have to deal with bs people Pros: prices are good today its all about price point and they seem to understand that Cons: small and they need more handbags and jewelry more

You're an idiot, hobielover 2/10/2009

To be disappointed that a store called HONG KONG isn't filled to the brim with Chinese relics is like being upset that an APPLE computer isn't made from fruit. more

Definitely a joke, right? 9/19/2008

OK, the only reason why I went to this place was because someone told my mom that there was a ""Chinese consignment shop"" on Central. So, I stopped there after school to check it out, and it wasn't open. The parking lot was lousy, and it made my car bump trying to get into the parking lot. I went to the McDonald's nearby (which had lousy service, by the way. It took 15 minutes to bake apple pies!) to wait for the place to open. Then I went back. It was 12:00 and still not open. I peeked through the window and was very disappointed with what was there. I saw some shiny clothing in the back though and, still believing I may find the used qipao (traditional Chinese dress, which I think could be described as ""vintage"") I was looking for, I waited. When the owner finally opened, I was shocked that I'd been tricked into going into a Goodwill, basically, and that I'd wasted gas to get there. Pros: Close to CPCC, and you don't have to drive through the bad part of town. Cons: Parking, timing, selection, sign more

Unbelievable selection! 8/4/2008

This store was just what I was looking for in terms of vintage shopping here in Charlotte- fun, friendly, and affordable! Although the store was small, the clutter was kept to a minimum. It was well organized by style, and the only con was that I couldn't buy it all! Service was great as well - the salesclerk was friendly but not overly pushy or conversational like some other stores. I definitely think this store warrants a visit!! Pros: Large, well-edited selection, low prices Cons: Small (but good organization makes up for it) more

Best place to find that unique shirt or coat that nobody else in town will have. 1/26/2008

I love this store. People are complaining about the parking but apparently they haven't seen the Huge lot right there next to the building that has ample room for parking and plenty of space to back up and get turned around in. This is The place to go for a unique shirt, dress, pair of pants or shoes, even a funky belt or jewelry. I love being able to tell people about it when I go out with friends and everyone asks ""Where did you get that shirt"". It's like shopping at Goodwill or Salvation Army without having to sort through all the junk stuff that they usually have. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. Some of the other people that work there are a little less helpful but if you go by when the owner is working, she'll help you find that perfect something. The best part about this place is that if you have something in your closet that you're not wearing anymore and you take it in there she'll usually give you a couple bucks of store credit. Try doing that at Salvation Army or Goodwill. Go check it out. You won't be dissappointed. Pros: Very unique selection, Fun stuff to look at or try on, Nobody else will have the same outfit on when you go out. Cons: Cons? I can't think of any. more

Not worth the hassle of parking there 11/25/2007

I wouldnt and havent gone back. The parking sucks, staff was not so nice and the items were the same as driving down the road to the Salvation Army.I wanted to like this place and i was let down. Pros: It's not a chain store Cons: parking, staff, selection more

Must go see!! 2/20/2007

If you are looking for some great vintage clothing and/or small pieces of furniture; this is the place to go. I heard really good things about Hong Kong and had to go and see for myself. It is not a big place but there are plenty of treasures inside. I have been scouring all over Charlotte to find a unique retro chair and side table...well...I found exactly what I was looking for. The owner is super sweet and has great taste. My 16 year old cousin came with me to look around and loved all of the clothes. We are going to be regulars there. If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, you have to go back another time. You never know what you will find. Pros: Great Finds!! Cons: Parking isn't the greatest more

the best vintage furniture, best clothes, best accesories, best service. 2/9/2007

this store maybe a little bit inconvinent when it comes to parking, but the stores around it are cute too, so you can just walk! its awesome. the owner is really nice and loves to help. she has great taste in her items and everythingi s well organized. my favorite store ever. Pros: clothes, jewlery, furniture, houseware, ETC more

NOT worth it! 8/14/2006

Worst location. If you get the one available parking space, try getting out. Backing out onto Central Ave. Inside the cramped space are things found at your local Goodwill or Salvation Army. Not a friendly shopping atmosphere. Save yourself a trip. more

My favorite store! 4/3/2006

I go here all the time and always find something I love. Better than anything I can get at the mall. I got my prom dress and shoes. Coolest handbags anywhere. I want to buy some of the furniture too. Pros: Shoes, Belts, Handbags Cons: Opens at noon more
