This park is tourist friendly. There is a lobby full of information and displays with an awesome gift shop. After paying a moderate park fee, discounts available, start off with a boat ride down Pepper River. The boat guides are extremely informative. Then walk through some of the most beautifully kept parks in America. The natural zoo features natives as well as some exotics. We even have a celebrity, Lucifer, the hippo from Hollywood who was retired from the film industry. When he has a birthday, it makes the newspapers. Everyday, once a day, he greets visitors with a moving surprise. It's a joke with the rangers. There is an education building and programs at the exhibits. The fishbowl is an awesome underwater round stairway to see the fish. Especially in the winter with the warm spring waters, you will see almost every fish imaginable. There are resident manatees and research going on. Also, one ranger from New England was on Reading Rainbow years ago and is still present giving talks daily. Very committed staff. Ample parking.
