I entered into the contract with HomeTech May 2015 to simplify the process of making an insurance claim. In return for HomeTech acting as the middleman between the insurance company and me, HomeTech would get to perform the work (replace roof with 30-year architectural shingles). Hometech has only served to complicate and delay the process.
When the process became non-routine, that is the insurance company wanted to perform an independent inspection without HomeTech's presence and then determined they needed an Engineer's inspection, HomeTech became unresponsive.
This was not before the Project Manager/Claims Specialist Joe Otero confirmed a meeting with the Engineer. HomeTech never showed up. Joe stopped returning my calls/texts; the main office never responded to my voicemails; and when I did get through to a person at the office they looked for the President/CEO Albert Andrawos, couldn't find him, but assured me he would give me a call. He never did.
The next week, HomeTech continued to avoid my attempted communication. I eventually rescheduled with the Engineer and an insurance-provided contractor to complete the inspection. This caused a major delay in the project.
A month later, only after I indicated my wish to sever ties with HomeTech has HomeTech began to respond again. This point was only reached after I was forced to perform all of the work HomeTech agreed to do to simply the process. Despite doing nothing to help the process, the President/CEO still wants me to allow them to perform the work.
I head to the courthouse to explore my options tomorrow.
