Good place to bring out of town guests 3/18/2007

After driving completely out of the way for what seemed like forever...we finally made it here...We got 2 dozen of the sweet water osyters...quite honestly they were not that great...I would have liked to have had the atlantics...but they were sold out. In the right conditions this could be a fun day...if you bring a picnic lunch, some booze and get a few dozen osyters. Cons: long drive from SF more

Incredibly fun 2/18/2004

I've been twice and both times had an absolutely wonderful time. The oysters are unbelievably good, the bayside picnic tables offer the most beautiful view, and the staff is super nice. This place is great for groups, but it is a bit hard to get to. It's really close to great hiking sites and Pt. Reyes Station, so it's worth the drive if you make a day out of it. 4 Varieties: Atlantics, French Hogs, Kumamotos, can't remember the last Cost: ~$12/doz Bayside tables and BBQ grills are available for picnickers, as well as shuckers and trays. I recommend bringing your own gloves although they are provided. Also, be sure to bring condiments, drinks, plates, and utensils, etc. For a more complete picnic experience, it's also advisable to bring other food. Be sure to check hours before going because they close fairly early. Pros: Variety of Oysters, Nicest (!) Staff, Unique Experience more
