This place is the best! The price is great, the food is yummy and years after I have moved out of the area I still crave it! The lines, the staff and even the wait is WELL worth it! more

Hoagie Haven 4/5/2006

If you're looking for simply "good food" in Princeton, most of the shops along Nassau will probably satisfy you. But, if you're a college student with a limited budget, Hoagie Haven is your best bet. It's hands-down the best food for the best price you can find in this town of overpriced restaurants. more

Great Sandwiches 8/19/2005

I'll just say that Hoagie Haven has a cult following. Every once in a while you'll see students wearing one of their signature t-shirts around New Jersey. Their California-style cheesesteaks are top notch. Toasted bread, cheese, steak, tomato, lettuce, onion, jalapeno, and other ingredients make it a common hotspot for the local college community. Other hot sandwiches are also available but are not as popular. It is take out only and is often packed during lunch hours. more

Known to be the Best Hoagie Place 8/6/2005

Hoagie Haven is famous. Everyone student at Princeton goes there at least once in their 4 years there. However, I personally don't understand what all the fuss is about. It's just some fatty meat with greasy cheese and onions stuffed into a hoagie. No big deal. The prices however, are very reasonable, with foot long hoagies costing about $5. The lines are always very long, no matter what time of the day you go, though they do serve very quickly. more

Salt, pepper, ketchup 6/10/2005

Burgers, sandwichs, finger food, and of course the best subs in New Jersey. This is the place to go in Princeton if you have a late night craving. The staff can be curt but they're never rude. Plus, you won't mind their laconic nature once you've tried the food. The subs and burgers are delicious and hefty. They're sure to satisfy any hunger. You'll never be shorted on fixings. Add to this the extra little touches such as great burger rolls or large serving of any sides you order and and you'll be sold on Hoagie Haven. Yeah, I realize the burger roll pitch may sound silly but too many burger places serve their stuff on cheap, white rolls. Finally, every order seems to end with the guy yelling at you "salt, peppa, kethup?" It seems to blend into one word. Whatever you say your food will be great. Go to Hoagie Haven late on a weeknight and you're sure to see the place crowded with engineering students. (Whether this is good or not is up to you.) At one point Hoagie Haven tried to add a delivery service but they were unable to handle the demand from the University. For a late night snack in Princeton this is the place to go. more
