The Hirshhorn, known for its huge donut-shaped building, is located on the Smithsonian museum campus. As with all Smithsonian buildings, admission here is free. As one might be able to guess, you'll find more abstract painting and sculptures here than at some of the other galleries. While it's not my favorite, far fewer people come here to visit, which makes walking around exhibits much easier. There's not as much to see here as at the National Gallery, so I'd plan on spending maybe 1-2 hours if you're not a huge sculpture and 3-dimensional art fan.
