During a recent holiday visit to the area to visit family, my sister (resident) insisted that we go to High Tide Harrys for dinner. The evening turned out to be disastrous! After being seated at 5:30 and ordering shortly after, I approached the hostess stand at 7:15 to ask to speak to a manager about why we had not received our food. We were told the mgr was finishing up something in the office and would be out. We waited 15 more mintues for her to show up. She tried every excuse....""you ordered appetizers"", ""someone at your table had a salad"". Never once did she apologize and take immediate action. Once we got our food (2 hours), I had to go find her to ask if we could get tea refills. No one had ever offered to refill our empty glasses. After we had finished our meal, a young employee came to our table with a very cocky attitude and stated that he would ""hold the door open for us to leave""! \r \r I am a wordly traveler, including South America, Europe and Asia. In all of my travels, I can honestly say that I have never, ever experienced such TERRIBLE customer service - even with the language and culture barriers in various countries. \r \r We had my elderly father with us and my brother in law who is battling cancer and was not feeling very well. We thought it would be a nice night out for him. At some point, he had to go out and sit in the car, he could not sit in the charge longer than 2 hours!\r \r There was never an apology offered throughout the evening or any attempt to rectify the situation. I will never step foot into this restaurant again....there are too many other GREAT establishments in Orland than this one whereas they clearly did not care about the customer! more

High Tide Harry's new location looks great! I was at the restaurant last night and enjoyed every aspect.. same great food and service as the previous location. When I arrived the restaurant was very busy, but we were able to enjoy drinks on the outdoor patio Best crab in town and the most reasonable prices as well.\r more

I never understand why competitors choose childish tactics to try to sell their own product by running down people. I AM an Orlando native and have been going to High Tide Harry's for over 16 years. They are like family and their product never dissapoints. I doubt you can find 2 dozen oysters for 6.99 anywhere. I love the place and our daughter chooses to go there for her birthday. Its great food, professional people and you will not see them on here griping. more

This is the worst place to eat in Orlando -the management staff is rude the owner has no idea what he is doing. I had the white fish it looked and tasted like the plastic food that my toddler plays with. NO TASTE to anything we had. The owner was the rudest person he just wants your money and then never cares if you ever come back. The place is dirty and smells like someone peed all over the place it is truly GROSS! Three of us went to this new location and tried Harry's for the first time. Was disappointed that cold water *Maine"" lobster was not on the menu anywhere, only ""warm water lobster"" was, and it was accompanied by pasta which doesn't cut it with me. The appetizer portions were small, the steak we had was fatty, and the scallops added to our meal were also few. All in all, I wouldn't travel this far again to eat seafood when Red Lobster offers actual sea food in decent portions. If I'm gonna pay good money for a meal, I don't wanna be still hungry when I leave. Sorry Harry's. won't be back. more

Harry's is by far the BEST seafood restaurant in Orlando.\r And you can get your choice of seafood grilled/steamed or fried... not just fried. Portions are generous. The mussels starter is my favorote. Their hush puppies are too good. Easy to get full too soon. For veggies, choose the excellent salads. (The steamed veggies are good but the green beans are canned.) The baked potatoes are good. The fries well they ought to go get TooJay's recipe...but ask for the malt vinegar if you like it with them. \r \r The service is prompt and curteous. Prices are affordable.\r I do have one suggestion for them.. though. Offer the salmon sandwich cold with a dressing.... It is very good that way! \r \r One bit of advice : you can ask for your beer in a glass. The fish bowls are a bit much for some of us.. interesting but a bit much. :) \r \r They're moving in June (2010). 4 miles sough. Bigger newer building .. Should be gerat! \r \r more

My husband and I are big Crab lovers. We used to eat them in Maryland when we lived in that area. We found these to be just as meaty, seasoned in Old Bay and the biggest hardshell crabs we've had in a while. Must have been a good season (Oct 21 )as you don't usually get these jumbos on the all-you-can eat order. Paid $29.99 ea. and got hush puppies (Yum!), side items, Steamed and Fried Shrimp that were a good size, and Fish , but we didn't try that as we were too stuffed. We will definitely go back again. My family and i dined at High tide harry's teusday night and let me be one of many to say wow. We were greeted promptly at the door and were sat right away. Which was awesome because it was busy. Our server greeted us shortly after we sat. She was very cheerful and knowledgeable. The menu had large variety of choices between fish, chicken, ribs and crab. After some serious debate we chose our entree's, my huspand choosing the All u can eat. He could not decide so why not have a little of everything. Our meals arrived hot and fast. The portion sizes were huge. I ordered the blue crabs with some concern i mean can they really cook them as good as we do in maryland? Let me tell you they were awesome. The seasoning was incredible with a taste to match. My huspand had no problems receiving more and more food. There was shrimp and catfish and crab galore. We had such an amazing time. I dined in High Tide Harry's last weekend with friends from all over the US. \r We all agreed - Best Crab we have ever eaten.\r Several of us had the Blue Crabs, they were cooked to perfection and since we ordered the all you can eats the server just kept em coming.\r Others had the snow crab, wide legs and snappy! Can't wait to go back there! Pros: Great Crab- Great Prices Cons: Had to wait a short while for a table to be available for our large party- Next time we will call ahead. more

We ate at High Tide Harry's Monday evening. The blue crab was overcooked and some pieces smelled of ammonia which means they were dead when they were processed. The sides were old and overcooked as well. If you like food that is pre-packaged and reheated this is the place for you but hey I guess you get what you pay for as this place is inexpensive. If you are looking for good quality don't eat here but if you want inexpensive crab, I guess take your chances. Pros: Cheap Cons: overcooked food, no flavor more

I was coasted to try HTH's for my birthday this year through a friend. We all gathered together after church and were off....upon entering the restaraunt I felt the place was personable; it was clean and did not have a fishy scent to it at all. Our waiter was funny and extremely knowledgable about the menu and how we should order after explaining that this was our 1st visit. During our meal; except for telling one another to try this, or try that, it was complete silence at the table b/c the food was so good. My husband approached the waiter to my surprise and he came out singing ""Happy Birthday""...as it turned out, he was a contestant on American Idol (A.J)! This was the best birthday a girl could ask for! I plan to surely revisit this restaraunt again w/o question b/c we love good times.........Thanks HTH's, you deserve 5*'s! First time review of a restaurant on CitySearch. Kelly behind the bar is the best, she is attentive and very fast. She is my favored bartender. Seafood quality and taste are superb, haven't found anything any better and that is after living here for 10 years. Would highly recommend to others and take family here whenever they are in town. Seafood is always fresh and the raw oysters are to die for. more
