We shop at DC's Eastern Market and vintage resale shops in Washington, and we like that. But we will make a point of going out the Lee Highway west to the tiny historic town of Clifton after two trips to this vintage store. It's more like a teenytiny vintage mall than just a consignment store. We find good prices on chests and tables, and ask the owner to let us know when they have something we are looking for.
The week before Christmas I had to keep my fiance from buying a kitschy lamp, but he found some old tins that came home with us, and I found a framed print and some antque mccoy bowls and fitz and floydd Xhristmas ornaments that the price was lowered on when we asked.
We'll still go to Eastern Market, too, but when we want a little trip out of town it's easy to get to Clifton's High End. We stop for asian food on the Annandale road.
