Higgins Crab House

Sure, I've had worse food elsewhere. Service has been more horrendous at other places.BUT I've never been to a blatantly race-unfriendly establishment. I kid you not...we walk in through the front section of the restaurant. It is huge with half the tables full, but they continue to take us further and further back. We end up in the rear room, I kid you not, next to the kitchen or something. We look around and notice that the only other family in there is African-American. We joke to ourselves (two Asian and Pacific Islander families) that it must be the back room for minorities. We joked until we saw the next family get seated. They are Hispanic. One final party gets seated - this time we see Caucasians and realize we must be overreacting...until we see one Asian guy walk in with them. I ask our server why we are seated in this back room. The front part of the restaurant is full, she says. As we leave, we notice that the restaurant is still about half full. Need I say more? more

Disappointing first and last dining experience at this locally renowned crab house. Both girlfriend and I had below average dishes. The all you can eat steamed grabs were overcooked and not fresh. Also, the tuna steak ordered as blackened was dry and overcooked as well. As for the service, our waitdress never asked for drink refrills and if we would like coffee or dessert. I would not recommend this restaurant to friends or family. Pros: Fairly priced meals, Causual attire Cons: Poor parking, Service, Food Quality more
