Hickey Automotive also did unauthorized work on my car. They installed air filters and cabin filters, which I had not requested. I only found out that they had done this after I received the bill. This work had been performed in the prior 5,000 miles, so it was not needed and not necessary. I gave them two stars because they performed the necessary checks. more

I brought my car in for a new alternator and an air condition check. I had an extended warranty so until it was approved by the warranty company I thought I had no charges. After all I expected it to be covered by the warranty company. After I found that I still needed to put a few hundred miles on the car for the warranty to kick in I was charged over $170 for work that I didn't approve. Hickey should have called and asked me if I wanted the work to be done but instead they just went ahead and did the checks and charged me for them. I told them the alternator was bad because !!! had just given me the news when they came to jump start the car. That was $20 I didn't expect.They added freon without my permission and checked the AC to a tune of $145.00I basically couldn't use the AC because I am still waiting for the alternator to be fixed. You can bet that I will not be a customer at this station ever again.I am on a fixed income and that couple of hours cost me a bunch with nothing to s more
