In ShortFew presidents' homes have as much to offer as the Hermitage, home of President Andrew Jackson. First built in 1819, the home was enlarged in 1831. After a fire in 1834, the home was rebuilt in the Greek Revival style. It has been under the care of the Ladies' Hermitage Association since 1889. Textiles and paint colors have been faithfully reproduced. Most of the furnishings are original and six rooms retain the original wallpaper.
