Completely rude and unapologetic 2/27/2010

I work very close to Hedley's, and many people from and at my business order from them, until now. I was extremely specific about my order and when it was delivered, it was the wrong order. I immediately called them back to correct it and was unapologetically told that even though THEY were at fault for my order, they had just closed their kitchen and refused to make me another order. I was told the only thing they could do for me was to compensate my next order. Really? It takes less an 5 minutes to WALK to my place of employment from their location. I can't imagine that everything had been shut down within 5 minutes. And aside from that, I'm out $20 with no time to get lunch and a slammed schedule. RUDE Cons: Bad attitudes, more

Great Food 6/10/2008

I have been eating at Hedley's for about a year now since I moved into the neighborhood. I am addicted! Especially to the Garden Burger Salad. I have dreams about their food @ least once a week which keeps me coming back a least twice a week for lunch. They just recently remodeled and they did a fabulous job. The restaurant is cozy like something you would stumble upon walking the streets of NYC. Menu specials change regularly and there is a lot to choose from. You can't go wrong with this place. more

Worst Service Imaginable 2/7/2008

I work at a local business and we have ordered food from Hedley's many times. Every time without fail the service is rude, and their attitude stinks. Most recently my assistant called and placed an order but had to cancel as I one of my kids had an emergency at school and I didn't have time to wait for my food. When my assistant called and cancelled the order (for soup) the man was very rude and told her not to order from there again. Don't worry, we won't and neither should you. Cons: Very rude and horrible attitudes. more

Best desert in the world! Try the specials, sit outside 6/16/2007

Hedleys is a great place to eat, and has quickly become one of our favorite haunts. The menu changes weekly, and the specials are amazing. Anything with a demi-glaze is a sure thing. Good breakfasts too. That said, it's a very small, modern, spare environment and the food is as unstuffy as the place. The owners make incredible meats and fish, but they also cater toward vegans (I think one of the owners is a vegan). I prefer to sit outside in the small patio where I can watch the people and feel the breeze. As I said, I never order off the plastic menu (though they have good standard fare) but prefer to order off the changing paper menu. It's always done right. The owners are South African and make the most amazing desert; Malva pudding. Hot, sensual, moist; like a strange sweet combination of a rice pudding and a hot carmelly cake (it's very hard to describe, but highly addictive! haha - served with a dollop of vanilla ice cream). Yes the inside can get crowded and loud (it's really small), but for the modernist with an appreciation for good food, it's a perfectly casual place to have a really lovely meal. (ps - ask about the South African wine!). Pros: casual, not usually busy, surprising specials, lovely meats and excellent desert, vegan friendly Cons: small, small kitchen=slower when busy more

Garden Burgers are for backyard bar-b-ques, Astro and Fatburgers. 2/7/2007

I'm still annoyed that I was given a ""Garden Burger"" at a restaurant that is not a fast-food establishment. I don't find it appropriate to feed people things you buy in a box at a supermarket at a restaurant such as this. Also, it's not ok to serve people Hot Pockets. more

yummy food, yucky atmostphere 3/29/2006

We went to Hedley's on a Saturday night since we read the reviews for good food at a good price. The food was really good, but the atmosphere was terrible. It was cramped, and smelled terribly. (Mostly like BO). My husband and my bestfriend's husband wanted to leave, but we persuaded them to try it. The food ended up being really good. But the prices were higher than a single $ rating. The bad smell and the prices will keep us from going back Pros: good food Cons: smell, parking, prices more

perfect 9/22/2005

i eat here several times a month, and i'm never disappointed. the food is tasty, fresh, and reasonably priced. it's a great find off the beaten path in west hollywood. great outdoor space. friendly owners and waiters. more

small portions 4/8/2005

When I read descriptions like ""comfort food"" and ""hearty,"" I guess I expected larger portions. What Hedley's served, however, is a small artfully displayed meal. That's fine. Their food seemed varied in offering and was well-prepared and tasty. But don't come under the impression that you're going to eat a large, hearty meal. You're not. I came for dinner. Maybe Hedley's is better for lunch, a meal more suited to smaller portions. Pros: pleasant decor, tasty morsels Cons: parking--argh!, small portions more

Perfect casual spot 3/10/2004

This is the perfect neighborhood place, if you're looking for yummy and quality food at a reasonable price. I've been here three times and each meal has been tasty and pleasant. A perfect addition to the hood. Pros: menu, food quality, price more

Hedley's Always Makes Me Happy 2/11/2004

I often go here for lunch at work, and I have never been disappointed. Especially try their specials; the kitchen has a subtle way with seasonings and spices that turn everything into an experience. For a light lunch I love their chicken salad, which has the best honey-mustard dressing I've encountered. The desserts are sorely tempting. Occasionally during a busy hour they can get a bit harried, but relax and enjoy the hip Euro-jazz-lounge music playing, and watch the people go by. Pros: Excellent food, Hip atmosphere more

good prices, good food 10/14/2003

Tried this place for brunch and was absolutely pleased. The prices were just right, and so were the portions. The iced tea is definitely some of the best out on the west coast, and that says a lot since I am from the south. Pros: quaint, good prices Cons: parking more

i really like this place 10/10/2003

Hedley's is a hidden gem in LA--great food, without spending a lot. It's very casual, perfect for a date (out on the patio), or breakfast. the food tastes wonderful and is presented as if you are at an expensive restaurant... proof you don't have to spend a lot to get a great meal!!! the warm, chocolate bread pudding alamode is to die for!!! honestly, one of the best desserts i've ever had..try the turkey burger and the specials too... great place! and the staff there is nice too. more

Best Kept Secret in West Hollywood! 9/30/2003

I love this restaurant! I go there regularly on Sundays with friends and the food has always been amazing! The chicken salad, although sounds simple, is grilled to perfection! The omelettes are delicious and never over or undercooked and the ice tea is so refreshing on a hot summer day. This is the perfect place to dine with friends and enjoy the afternoon or evening. Pros: Good service, Great food, Great prices Cons: Parking more

This place rocks! 8/7/2003

Simply unbelievable food for the price! Comparable to places charging double or tripple the price. Pros: amazing food Cons: outdoor bathrooms more

A great little WeHo spot! 5/2/2003

Hedley's has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat in West Hollywood. The wait staff is friendly, attentive and quick. The food is creative and delicious. The chocolate bread pudding is INCREDIBLE! And . . . the prices will not put a dent in your wallet. I have been very disappointed with the quality of the restaurants in WeHo, so I am very psyched to have Hedley's in the mix now - for dinner and brunch on the weekends. Don't miss this small restaurant tucked away on Robertson between Santa Monica and Melrose. Pros: Food, Service, Value Cons: Small size more

Great place 4/14/2003

Feels like a tiny trendy eatery in the soho district of London where fashionistas and drama darlings grab a bite to eat before heading to the theater or a club. Great food, good atmosphere, small and with an atmosphere of minimalist cool. more
