Don't waste your time or money 5/4/2010

I have eaten in this restaurant at their location in Chelsea. that is why I thought it would be a decent bet before going to see Peter Gabriel at Radio City Music Hall. The waiter was friendly enough, too bad I couldn't find a beer I liked. I ordered the taco salad, my husband ordered a turkey burger and fries. Our food came out in less than ten minutes, which would lead me to believe the burger was pre-cooked ( it also looked like it ) and it was utterly tasteless and the the french fries were so greasy . My taco salad- that I ordered with chicken for an extra $3.00 came out with what looked liked chcken cubes the size of a sugar cube! I could have gotten a better looking and tasting salad at Taco Bell. Pros: I will try to think of one Cons: Food,service more

Great Place Before the Theater 4/12/2010

Stopped in as first timers before the theater. We were impresed by the beer choices and the helpfulness of our server in answering our questions about the beer selections. Our dinners were very good. Service was very good also. Enjoyed the music also. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed dinner while listening to the Velvet Underground!!! Great Place To Eat And Drink 12/29/2009

Great location and excellent service and food make this a prime spot for the New York tourist. Minutes from Radio City Music Hall and many other popular attractions. Manager Glen made us feel welcome via our call for reservation (unnecessary)......thanks and we will be back! Pros: Great selection of beer/ale, nice menu, great service. Cons: A little crowded...not much of a waiting area. more

Friendly staff took great care of us. Some of the best beer I have ever tasted. Food was teriffic too. Great music playing, sports on TV. We had an awesome experience here! Pros: Excellent home made beers, great food & service Cons: ??? more

Great Food Excellent Service 3/19/2009

Really want to give a special THANK YOU to the Manager Glen and our server for being so attentive and went above what you would expect. I am a Bartender and have been in the industry for close to 20 years. It is so rare anymore when people make you feel so welcome. I would recommend this restaurant and especially the one on 6th ave @ 51st St. Thanks again, Bernadette and Lisa from Ft. Midtown at the oasis 1/2/2007

Having forced my teenage daughters into several upscale eateries on a recent trip to the Big Apple I finally got it right. A stones throw from the Rock, this place had a warm feel that added to the experience. Burgers, rings, and homeade beers( including Root) were just the ticket to get away from sun- dried this and wine-reduction that. The wait- staff was efficient and courteous, bucking a recent disturbing trend in New York restaurants. Pros: Location, value, service Cons: Noise more

Don't waste your time 12/14/2006

Cold food, bad service. I always liked the Heartland in Union Square, but this location has a much smaller menu, terrible staff, and everything arrived at the table cold and tasteless. It is obviously geared toward tourists who will never return anyway. I recommended it to friends because it was convenient and I ended up completely embarrassed. more

rude waitstaff 12/22/2005

Waited forever for service and barely got a grunt, no smile, from him. We sat in a small booth near the bathrooms (just in case he wants to know that I'm talking about HIM!). He brought the bill and dropped it on our table while he was facing another table. No thank you. Nothing. Should have left the same thing for his tip. Food was mediocre for the cost. It is convenient but so are some other ""chain"" restaurants. Pros: Location, Menu choice Cons: Rude waitstaff, Cost more

I've ended up here a few times because its location is easy to remember and to get to, but every time I go I remember that I didn't really like it the previous time. The food is kind of eh, not much of a selection and the service was really slow last week. There was almost no one there on a Friday night which should have been a clue. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had. The only friendly staff member was the guy at the bar. The man that was hosting promised to save a table for our party of 7, then sat a party of 2 at the very table he was saving (mean while there were boths open all around). When we were finally seated our waitress came by twice-1 for our order and 2-for our check. My turkey burger was not cooked at all, my friends salmon was completely raw. Horrible food and Horrible service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE HEARTLAND BREWERY. Cons: uncooked food, rude waitstaff more

Good midtown food... 1/25/2005

ALWAYS full with tourists (especially because of it's close proximity to Rockefeller Center). But this place is a well-oiled machine so they know what they're doing. I""ve been here a bunch of times now and the service is always outstanding. The food is above average for midtown and sligtly better than some of the other Heartland Breweries in the city. This place is worth going even if only for their beer. The seasonal beers are fabulous!! Try the pumpkin ale in the fall... it's my favorite. For about ten bucks, you can get a really big, juicy burger with all the fixings with an ample amount of fries. The pumpkin ale is worth trying too. A cheap, guilty pleasure. more

Yes its a chain, but the service has been good on every visit, great sandwiches and salads most surprising are the excellent deserts. The Union Sq location is probably the most comfortable and most filled with locals, but Chophouse in Times Sq is a nicer dinner setting. Not bad at all. Recomendation 6/6/2004

Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls are a must and if you are not in the mood to have one of their delicious homemade beers - their Root Beer soda is incredible - they make that too. This place has a classy feel and at the same time it's warm and comfortable. Besides the beer that is the best, they make great mix drinks too - their mixologist makes a mean apple martini! more
