Where Customer Service Is Optional 5/31/2011

So maybe management has changed since the good reviews were written. I brought my motorhome in on 4/29 to get some small things fixed and the door lock fixed. I told the service manager I was going full time at the end of May. The service manager said they would try to repair the lock and, if they couldn't repair it they would order a new lock. A few days later I got a call that they couldn't fix the door lock and was asked if they could order a new one. I agreed. A couple of weeks later the service manager called again and asked if he should order a door lock. I told him that should have been done weeks ago; if he hadn't ordered it he should do so immediately and that I would pay the overnight charges. A week later I called. The service department manager wasn't in, so I spoke with the general manager, Tim Johnson. He patched me through to the fellow who ordered the parts..and, no, the part still hadn't been ordered. I was asked to call the service manager the following Monday. When I called him on Monday he told me that the part had been ordered. I said I would be there the next Tuesday to pick up the RV, giving them 8 days to get the part and put it on the RV. When I went to pick it up today I was informed that the lock was defective but that I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. I asked to speak with the general manager as well. He told me that Hawley's has no direct relationship with Gulfstream, so they had to buy the part through a third party (none of this was explained to me at the time Hawley's accepted my RV for repair). I was not allowed to take the RV until I paid for the part - yes, the part that was never put on my RV. That's why I say customer service is optional. Use Hawley's service department at your own risk. more

Poor Service and Communication 7/3/2010

I bought a new Northtrail 21fbs at Hawley's in Hope Mills in July of 2009. I was very satisfied with the price and the way we were treated. The RV developed an electrical problem after 11 months of ownership so I tried to get a replacement part from Hawley's. I gave up after making numerous phone calls to both the service and the warranty departments. Not a single person would return my call. After checking the Heartland Website. I called Sonny's Camping Center in Duncan, SC. They were very nice and helpful and quickly replaced the part. Pros: Helpful salesperson at time of purchase. Cons: Horrible Service, Horrible Communication after the sale. more

The WORST of the WORST! 5/26/2009

I took my motorhome in for an estimate to repair the roof where a tree fell on it. The rude guy in the shop complained about not being able to go home early because I was there for an estimate. The place was very unfriendly and contentious. After a week and no estimate, I called the rude *""*^*#** and he was even more ruder if you can beleive that!\r A complaint call to David Hawley in Fayetteville was never responded to which verifies my theory that rude and unprofessional customer service usually starts at the top! I took it to Camping World in Greensboro, NC ...received excellent professional customer service and they get to do the $13K repair job. My advice. if you desire good customer service....stay as far away from Hawleys as you can! Cons: Terrible Customer service more

Nice people 7/6/2008

I have used Hawley's multiple times for questions concerning our Travel Trailer. When we had our popup, the service dept was wonderful. They went out of their way to help me fix a broken cable, emailing me directions and giving lots of advice. We didn't even buy our popup from them. Everytime we have needed anything, they have been super nice, realizing that we didnt buy either trailer from them. They just didnt have what we were looking for at the time. We drive an hour one way to do business with them. We have been very pleased. more

POOR SERVICE 5/30/2007

I PURCHASED A 2000 JAYCO IN APRIL 2006,I WAS TOLD THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE ON IT UNTIL I USED IT THE FIRST TIME,HAD TO CARRY IT BACK FOR THEM TO WORK ON THE AC.IT WORKED ONE TIME AND QUIT AGAIN.THEY REPLACED PARTS AND NOW MY AC AND MY FURNACE ARE BROKE.I WOULD NOT REFER ANY OF MY FREINDS OR FAMILY TO THEM.WORST SERVICE ANYWHERE Cons: NOT TRUSTWORTHY more

Poor follow up 4/28/2006

I contacted them concerning cheap pop-up campers, and possibly a used travel trailer in need of repair. Finally after two weeks of me leaving messages I got a call back that a unit was in repair and would be available soon. A month later no calls but a unit I was seeking shows up on their website. I called back to inquire and the unit was already sold. When it comes to customer service these guys are sorry. Cons: sold out from under , no follow up more
