Insane parking lot 12/28/2005

I avoid going to this supermarket if I have to. The parking lot is just insane and you can never find parking. Even if you do find parking, people are careless with where they leave their shopping carts, so your car might get hit with it. The inside of the store is probably the dirtiest of the three Asian supermarkets I frequent. It often smells sour and pungent when I walk into the store, too. The one thing I usually buy is their mangoes. When they are on sale, they're only about $3 per box, which is a great deal. Otherwise, I try to avoid going here. more

There are a lot of complaints about Hawaii Supermaket being too dirty. It's definitely not bad by Asian standards, however, and I don't know a better place to get fresh produce at a cheap price. During the summer, watermelon, mangoes in boxes, white peach, white nectarine, and oranges are incredibly cheap and absolutely delicious, and it's common to find rare Asian fruits like starfruit, lychees, pomegranates, and durian. All sorts of Asian foods and cookware are available at Hawaii Mkt as well. more

Cheap products, but dirty 9/17/2005

This supermarket is another traditional Chinese supermarket on the block. It carries a wide range of goods at a cheap price. However, there's a downside to this supermarket, it's very dirty and it seriously needs cleaning. The products however are very fresh and nice. The seafood department is one of the best in the neighborhood. more
