Our big lab Jeb was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma,a blood cancer.Most dogs are given 6 months to live after such a diagnosis but we had the great gift of two and a half more years with Jeb.We feel that this wonderful gift of time was due to the fantastic and loving care of Dr.Heather Sinclair and her staff at Haw Creek Animal Hospital.In addition to her surgical skills,she provided us with knowledge and informed options,both alternative and allopathic.We were treated like family and Jeb was cared for as if he were her own.Additionally,I was so grateful for the hospital's extended hours as I never had to wait and worry about a problem.I called at odd times and was answered and reassured by a vet or knowledgable staff.It meant so much to have Dr.Sinclair's positive and upbeat support helping us through this difficult time.Haw Creek Animal Hospital is a special place. more

Not Happy 5/2/2014

Very disappointed to say the least! My beloved dog had surgery a little over a week ago. It was a surgery that I have since found out that very few dogs recover from. I was never given this information or I would have made a different choice. Just five days ago I had to have my best friend put to sleep after suffering through a few days of trying to recover from a surgery I would have never put him through knowing what I know now. On top of it all, I have not received so much as one phone call to check and see how he is doing. It saddens me to think that I trusted these people for my pets well being....I will never, ever take another pet here, nor would I recommend it. It seems to be more about the money, in my opinion... more

Our lab had a serious hematoma of the ear and Dr. Sinclair offered to perform surgery immediately, which was greatly appreciated. What was not appreciated was there was never any discussion about the cost involved and the bill was more than $500. We returned several days later because the bandages had come loose and the doctor indicated she had not stitched the ear enough and itwas filling with fluid again. She performed an additional surgery and we paid an additional $125. My concern is in the medical professional, these types of billing practices are illegal, as they should be. Billing for rechecks every time someone returns to the office as a followup to surgery is illegal in the medical profession because there is an expectation the fee for the surgery includes the followup. Where is the consumer protection when it comes to vet charges? more

Thanks for your compassion 5/15/2011

While it has been about six months since I lost my golden retriever Toby, I still can't say enough about how compassionate and caring the vets and staff are at Haw Creek Animal Hospital. I appreciate the love that HCAH showed Toby during his nearly 18 month battle with cardio pulmonary disease. Toby was a big part of our family and the vets and staff, because of their compassion and caring, became a part of our family too. Every time Toby went to the vet he knew he was in a caring and loving environment. Dr. Sinclair always took the time to answer each and everyone of our questions. In the end when it was time for Toby to cross over the Rainbow Bridge, the staff was incredibly patient in letting my wife and I spend as much time with Toby as we needed to say our "goodbyes." Thanks HCAH for helping us make a thoughtful, loving and informed decision. Thank you for being so caring and compassionate. more

Excellent Animal Hospital 10/26/2010

I have been taking my animals to see Dr. Sinclair and her staff for over 3 years and have always had the best care. Recently, one of our dogs became very ill and we took her in immediately. She was seen promptly by Dr. Fochios who handled the situation with expertise, compassion and professionalism. She ran the appropriate tests, discussed her findings and our options. She answered all our questions and made sure we understood everything that was happening. Her genuine concern for our dog (and for us) was greatly appreciated and we left knowing the proper care had been given. She continued to follow-up with us regularly and our dog made a full recovery. more

THE MOST WONDERFUL DRS. AND STAFF 7/20/2010

I run an animal rescue so as you can imagine I am at the vet's office more than the normal pet owner. I absolutely love Dr. Sinclair, as well as the other veterinarians. The staff is compassionate and knowledgeable too. I simply cannot say enough good stuff about Haw Creek and I do my best to send all our new adoptive parents there.\r They offer holistic services in addition to traditional veterinary medicine. \r Prices are affordable and I am so excited to hear they are going to be open 7 days a week til 11pm. unsanitary facility 6/3/2010

I think there holistic consultation is outrageously expensive and not very holistic. The place is not very clean. The exam rooms were dirty with dried urine spots on the floor and it looked like the formica top on the table had not been sanitized between exams.Jonathan is somewhat arrogant. It takes them forever to return a phone call with the results. There are better and more prompt vets in the area. Forget their holistic approach it's just a reason to charge more. Had 3 dogs there and spent close to $1000.00. more

Haw Creek Animal Hospital is Awesome!!! 7/23/2009

I have always loved Haw Creek Animal Hospital. The staff is loving, caring and always ready to help. Dr. Sinclair has always been there when ever I had questions or concerns about my dog. Recently we had a scare when Willow hurt her back leg. We were seen that very day and they took excellent care of both of us. She was in pain and therefore so was I. They took her as quickly as possible and got rid of her pain and by association mine. They then checked everything that could possibly be causing the problem. After close supervision and several trips back I a proud to report Willow is back to her usual crazy self and no one was as happy as I was but the staff of HCAH came very close. They truly care about all their patients, both animal and human. Everyone should be so lucky to have a wonder Dr.and staff like Haw Creek Animal Hospital taking care of their family. As for Willow and I we are truly blessed. more

Lots of personal attention! 7/9/2009

We have used Haw Creek for several years and Dr. Sinclair, Dr. Feiler, and their staff have always been wonderful. They spend a lot of time with each patient and always answer questions thoroughly. They offer holistic and conventional medicine as well as services for exotics. The staff is also supportive of animal rescue and recently had a week called ?NC Week for the Animals? where 10% of each day?s income was given to local animal groups. They added evening hours when clients requested this and seem to go out of their way to ensure that everyone (animals and people) are happy during their visits. more

Haw Creek Animal Hospital is great 7/9/2009

Our dog, Yoda, seriously injured his back (he was in excruciating pain) and Dr. Feiler managed to see him immediately. She gave him pain meds, began tests and radiographs, and kept us posted with his condition. Fortunately, he recovered and we were very relieved with our quick service. It must be very difficult to work in an animal hospital since it functions as a place for routine wellness exams as well as an ?emergency room.? The staff does a good job with scheduling and has always told us when an emergency case has just come in the door. We are happy to wait when this happens since we?ve had emergencies ourselves and are so glad they have accommodated us. I highly recommend them and also like that they offer holistic options. They also have not hesitated to refer us to a specialist or consult with Univ. of Tenn when needed. more

Haw Creek Animal Hospital is my place for my pets! 7/6/2009

Dr SinClair and her staff have done a wonderful job with each and all of my visits. With a waiting room full the front staff keeps you informed, the visit to the back of course is terrific. Quiet and easy going with fightened animal, loving and hugging with an animal that needs to be hugged. A true animal caring place! Expert, proffessional treatment. I will be back! From broken bones, to a degloved tail, and the routine vaccinations. My pets are happy. more

Compassionate, Responsive, Holistic Care 7/6/2009

I have been a happy client of Dr. Sinclair and her practice for several years now, from general prevention to current treatment of our two elder dogs who have Cushing disease and pancreatitis. Her compassion and attentiveness in answering endless questions is truly appreciated. It is also wonderful to have blended choices from the latest holistic and traditional approaches Haw Creek offers. After going to many vets, I can say she is the best and very much worth it! The staff is also professional, kind, and responsive. It is a great comfort to have their excellent care as they help our dogs age gracefully. more

Best Veterinary Care My Pets Have Ever Received 7/4/2009

Dr. Sinclair is hands down the absolute best veterinarian I have ever met. Her devotion and dedication to her patients (human, canine, feline, or otherwise) is unwavering. She is the type of veterinarian most people only dream of finding. Her services literally saved my German Shepard, Fly, from an otherwise certain death. I cannot recommend her enough. The staff at Haw Creek is also exemplary and should be lauded for all of the phenomenal work they collaboratively do. Fred the cat, who greats all clients, is also worth his weight in gold (just don't tell him!). more

Haw Creek Animal Hospital is a VERY CARING practice. 7/2/2009

I have experienced nothing but the best care and consideration from Dr. Sinclair and her staff. I read the other reviews - yes, sometimes it's hard to get an appointment and you may wait but it's because Dr. Sinclair takes time with her patients. Animals can't tell you what's wrong so sometimes it takes more time to understand, diagnose and treat. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this kind and compassionate veterinary practice. more

Good Local Vet Practice 9/3/2008

I've been going to this vet for several years. Both Dr. Sinclair and Dr. Feiler are great at what they do and my animals genuinely like them and feel comfortable. I have no complaints about the physical care received. They offer both traditional and holistic care. That's the good stuff.\r \r I limit my rating to 3 stars due to what I perceive as rather lax office practices. This could be due to not having enough computer terminals available for their staff or the absence of office procedures to streamline repeated tasks. Some examples include: exceedingly long waits even when early for an appointment, lack of follow-up after surgery (this only happened once to me but it bothered me since I had no instructions to take home), and an always predictable surprise when I get my bill. It has been my experience that even when I ask for a verbal estimate it is not even close on checkout.\r \r So, as I seem to continue to go this office because I like the care provided, I tend to schedule appts in t more
