Harborview Inn And Suites Downtown

This hotel is in a great location. It's in the heart of Little Italy so there are lots of places to eat and there are a few good bars. There's a really great farmers market nearby every Saturday. Its a few blocks from the airport and walking distance to the bay. The gaslamp quarter is just a $5 cab ride away. We were looking for a hotel that was decent for a smart price., that had free parking, free wireless internet, and continental breakfast and that is exactly what we got. The rooms were small but clean. They had been recently renovated except for the one I stayed in. Room 309 for some reason seemed like it was the only room on the 3rd floor that had not been renovated. If you can, avoid this room. The couple at the front desk were nice enough. Upon request we were given the key to the safe, extra pillows and towels, and a hairdryer. One interesting thing was that they did not provide soap so we had to go out and buy it. But they did leave us two bags of samples of deodorant, razors, gum, and other stuff. Never saw this before! The only problem I had with the lady at the front desk was that she tried to charge us a dollar a night booking fee and since we booked through hotels dot com we refused to pay it. Might stay here again if I was ever in San Diego more

"Recently stayed at the hotel and had an excellent experience. The staff were responsive (family owned) and extremely friendly. They were always very accommodating to our needs no matter what the hour was. We missed not having a coffeemaker in the room but they made us coffee whenever we wanted it. Perfect location for the convention center and the airport. Rooms a bit dated but bathrooms were great! If you are looking for a great bargain on a budget hotel in a nice area....STAY HERE! Quick walk to EXCELLENT affordable dining - 5 mins walk to the harbor - close to public transportation - short cab ride around to major attractions. more

When my girlfriend planned our one day trip to San Diego from the North bay, I was thinking we were gonna stay at a small cramped hotel cause we were trying to save and spend more money on the trip itself. We were surprised now nice the 2-bed rooms were, we had checked out the single bed rooms but that was a little small for all our stuff, so we upgraded and decided to stay an extra day. more

"Stayed there from Sunday throughWednesday. Clean rooms and good price. Went to sea world and zoo as well as downtown. Convenient to all locations. Longest travel time was 15-20 min to sea world. If your looking to save some money and have a comfortable stay this is the place. Bed was not one of the cheep hard one's either. " more

GREAT HOTEL: Coming into town during the summer will bleed you dry! Not just that, but you have to book your reservations months in advance! I guess a a few days trip to San Diego is worth all the trouble, and this place the Harborview Inn & Suites made it reasonable and doable. My friends and me just wanted to get out of LA for a few days and go to a cool beach town, and San Diego is definitely that if nothing else. But man, when we started shopping around, did we find out how expensive this town can be! And people were rude to us when we said no, we don't want to pay hundreds and hundreds of dollars per night for some room. This place was just as nice as most others, very close to all the nightlife and bars, and across the street from the water for way way less. We were happy that we found this place - now maybe we can do this trip more often. I thought that the staff was great - they totally hooked us up on the info as to where to go to have a great time. more

The place was under construction, but now it's amazingly nice. The room I'm in has been completely remodeled with new, nice-ish furniture, granite counter in the bathroom, a nice sized new fridge and microwave, and even a 40" plasma tv. I honestly have no complaints about the place. The staff was even very nice to me, so much to the point that I felt sorry for all the bad reviews I'd read. more
