Best

Great hidden gem I found since moving to LO a few weeks ago. I don't agree with others saying that the staff is rude... in my opinion they are nice, and not to bad on the eyes eit...

Worst

I went to Hanko's for the first time to watch a UFC pay per view after the heart breaking news that the City Sports Bar downtown was closing. Wasn't too impressed. Pros: Cheap...

The Price is Right 4/6/2011

You can't beat the value here for drinks and food. My husband and I usually get one order of the fajitas and a pitcher of beer to share. The total with 20% tip is less than $20. Very much a neighborhood sort of place with lots of familiar faces. We love going there to watch the sporting events that we don't get at home. Only downside (for me) is that it's often chilly in there. Not sure if they turn the heat on at all! Oh well, if it keeps the prices down, I have no problem wearing a sweater! more

Great place to grab a drink and relax 11/9/2009

Great hidden gem I found since moving to LO a few weeks ago. I don't agree with others saying that the staff is rude... in my opinion they are nice, and not to bad on the eyes either. The pool is cheap or free depending on the night. Drinks are reasonable and they have drink specials on some nights. This is a great place to hang out with friends or to stop into after work. The bar is located in a strip mall so they do not have a covered smoking patio, if they did I would have gave Hanko's 5 stars. Pros: Great atmosphere with good drinks Cons: no covered smoking patio more

Hanko's has rudest staff, and worst service in Portland 4/7/2009

--They don't know how to make even simple mixed drinks; when I explained how to make a Spanish coffee it turned out undrinkable (cold coffee, wrong liquor) (of course, I paid for it anyway, since they wouldn't replace it). --A barmaid told my friend she can't return because she didn't leave a large enough tip (15% for horrible service). --They overcharged for food, and the waitress started an argument with me when I explained the tab was too high. She got mad and made snide insults to me. --It was an awful experience in every way; I'll never go back, and I'm sure they don't care a whit or they wouldn't treat customers like that. --PS: I am a nice person and a low-maintenance customer, so these things didn't happen because I'm difficult. Cons: EVERYTHING more

strong drinks, pool tables, darts, cute girls.. 2/23/2009

I go to Hanko's for the free UFC fights, cheap beer and strong drinks. The bar is much better now that it is smoke free and the staff are all cute, friendly and fast... chill cool place to hang with friends. more

Whatever. 2/1/2009

Best cheesesteak in town; very friendly bar staff; a real ""neighborhood"" bar 11/6/2007

Hanko's is a nice spot. Very friendly people. Menu is just average except a few things stand out. The Nacho plate is HUGE and really good. The philly-style cheesesteak is awesome. Menu changes each month. Bar staff is really friendly. This is definitely a neighborhood bar where everyone watches out for reach other. Go just a few times and you will feel like a regular. It is smokey - and hey, it's a sports bar so it is definitely not fancy. ok, kind of a dive - really. But fun and drinks are cheap. Go with some friends .. Pros: good prices; decent food; good service; friendly and fun Cons: the restrooms should be condemned - ugh. more

alright after work 4/6/2007

Alright place if you bring people you know. Has lots of entertainment, but lots of smoke and a hole in the wall feel. Pros: pool, good priced pitchers, darts, juke box, sports Cons: lots of smoke, hole in the wall more

NICE PLACE 7/3/2003

Hanko's is a nice place to bring large groups to and enjoy the pool tables and sports television that the bar provides. I tasted some fries, but they didn't knock me off my feet. I would recommend this bar for bachelor's, large groups, and anyone else who enjoys the art of drinking while watching sports. Pros: Cheap beer, Cheap food, Good for lrg. groups Cons: Mid-lvl. food quality, Slow service more
