Hair Architects

I have been going to Hair Architects since I had my hair done by Dante for my wedding three years ago. I have dark blonde (OK, it's brown) hair and when I lighten it is almost always got brassy/red under tones until I met Dante! you don't even know how happy I am to have found someone who listened to me and GOT it =) Plus she is funny and gauges how she interacts with you based on your mood. She also helped me find products to extend the life of my (now non-brassy) color- which isn't really in her best interest, but mine. Thanks Dante, you're the best! more

I usually don't post reviews on these types of websites but I HAVE to give credit where credit is due. I had my hair cut and high-lighted by Dante last week and aside from feeling like every day since has been a great ""hair day"", I have received SO many compliments on my new do:) Dante was SO friendly and although I probably came off as ""high maintenance"", she made me feel like I was easy to deal with and she gave me the look I was going for. \r If you're looking for a great stylist (and at a reasonable price) go see Dante at Hair Architects! You'll thank me:) more

I purchased a Groupon for Keratin treatment with Paige. I called to schedule an appointment and I had one in May. Someone called (I believed it was Paige) very apologetic gave me a reason to reschedule the appointment because she wasn't able to make it (the exact reason I don't remember). I had flexible time so I agreed to call back to schedule another one.\r I called back yesterday (06/10) not knowing that the salon is closed on Mondays but still I left a message. I called again today (06/11) and I scheduled the appointment with the help of other person. \r Later on, Paige contacted me to let me know that back in May according to her records, I was a no show and her policy was when this is the case is to void the deal.\r I told her that I was not a no show and in fact I agreed to reschedule the appointment because she needed to. Very rudely and unprofessionally she told me that she did not remember any of this, that she did not have that in her records that she was going to talked to her manager about it and she was going to get back to me at the end of the day.\r I got very upset and told her that it was very disrespectful because in other words she made it seen that I was making up a story. I said to her that I needed to talk to her manager and she hang up on me.\r Never had my treatment because I complained with Groupon right away and they gave me my refund. \r I will not try to go here again!!\r more

I am not usually someone that gushes about experiences, because I tend to have unreasonably high standards, but this place was way beyond my expectation, much to my surprise! I got the Japanese Hair Straightening Treatment from Paige, and she did AMAZING. I had heard horrible things about it making your hair dry or frizzy, and she even warned me that might happen - especially since I have naturally dry hair - but when I left, my hair was STICK STRAIGHT and SOFT! Exactly the look I wanted!! With this treatment, you have to keep it down and not wet for five days, and I got it last night - the amount of compliments I got on it between then and now is incredible! And of course, I love it! On top of all that, she has great personality and you can tell she really loves what she does. I will DEFINITELY be returning here, and I honestly don't think I could go anywhere else after the amazing job she did!! more

I highly recommend this hair salon! All the stylists are wonderful. Coffee is served too! That's a biggie for me. I personally can recommend Alex! She is professional, an excellent stylist and is good with highlighting. A genuinely nice gal! more

Dante' is a rock star. By far the most professional and courteous staff in the Portland metro area. Dante' was able to give me exactly the style that I wanted and kept me entertained the entire time with thoughtful and intelligent conversation. She isn't too hard on the eyes either. The prices are perfect for the excellent quality of work and the atmosphere is comfortable and accommodating. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is new to Portland, or is looking for a change in their stylist. A + all around. more

Can a Groupon for a salon be dangerous? It can, if it makes a casual buyer of manicures and pedicures want to become a regular. I never got mani/pedis until I started using Groupon. Now my experience with Susan Randall may take my hands and feet off the market. She is by far the best at her craft. Two weeks into my shellac manicure, and it still looks great! My toes are flawless too. Thanks, Susan, for being the real deal. Your work is amazing! more

I went in today for a Japanese relaxer with Alex. She is a very professional and friendly lady, readily available to answer any questions about the procedure. I had a very positive experience and I am already looking forward to booking my touchup! Highly recommended! more

Alex is the absolute BEST hair stylist EVER! I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a perfect haircut. She doesn't talk alot, but spends her time giving you a perfect cut! more

DANTE is really know how to make a VEGAS hair!!! I got this coupon from some social website to use at hair architect. Before i go there, i was really skeptical about the quality of this place, since the place was really hiding on the corner. But man, with DANTE, I got the best hair color and highlight ever!! I went to Vegas 2 days after i got it done, and pretty much everyone was asking about my hair. Man, what a good feeling!! Aaaahhhh!! - I've just spent another very relaxing, satisfying afternoon at Hair Architects, with my personal stylist, Joseph, who pampers the hell out of me! I have been a very loyal client of his for over the past 4 years, because of the fantastic personal treatment I ALWAYS receive from him and all of the Staff. It's clear that exceptional customer care is the priority at this Salon - I've always been treated with respect and the Staff go out of their way to make sure my needs are met. My stylist, Joseph, listens carefully to my requests during appointments and is a COLOR GENIUS, which I desperately needed when I first ventured into Hair Architects. I am a BLONDE, and Joseph is the only stylist I've ever found who makes my long curly hair the PERFECT color - it's multi-faceted color, just lovely, and believe me, do I get compliments! I WOULD NEVER GO TO ANYONE ELSE. more

I went and had a keratin treatment from Joseph. I have very course, curly and a little frizzy hair. Not only did it turn out terrific, but he did it in record time. I strongly urge anyone on the fence to have this treatment done by Joseph. He is a pro! And I can't say enough good things about this salon. more

I went to hair architects over the weekend to get my hair cut on the suggestion as a friend. I had Alex cut my hair and she did a fabulous job. I couldn't be happier with the cut she did. The staff was friendly and attentive to all the clients it seemed like and even Jon (the owner) came over to give me some tips about my possibly thinning hair and how to be proactive about it. I will definitely go back when I need another cut and will be happy to have anyone in the salon do it. more

This salon is warm and inviting. Everyone was friendly. My stylist was very helpful in choosing color that would work with my hair. It turned out perfect. My cut was done as I wanted it and the stylist was able to tame a couple of trouble areas I have. I could not have asked for a better experience. I will be going back. more

I feel terrible writing this review, but cannot believe how well rated Hair Architects is. I should preface this with a bit of information about my past. My mom always made us go to Great Clips and other low end places to get haircuts growing up, so I stay far away from them now that I'm an adult. I have a wonderful stylist who I cannot praise enough. I definitely pay more for my haircuts - and my stylist is worth every penny! Unfortunately, my income doesn't always support my taste for more expensive things. On to my experience at Hair Architects. I decided to go based on the reviews and the cost of haircuts. The staff was friendly and the stylist I saw was on time. She seemed to be attentive and understand my fear of trying new stylists as well as my past of bad haircuts. She assured me that I would not end up with thick, 80's style layers or lose too much length. After all, I only came in for a trim. By the time the stylists was done hacking away at my hair, it looked just as she had previously assured me it would not. I attempted to tactfully express my displeasure and she continued to add more layers and take off more length. I kindly told her that was enough and left feeling very disappointed and mislead by the wonderful reviews. Needless to say, I ended up going to see my stylist to have her fix my hair and vowed to never allow finances to make me stray again. I gave Hair Architects 2 stars (I could not give them only 1 - that's just mean) for their friendly staff, but would not return or recommend the salon to others based upon my experience. Sorry! more

Hi, Just had my first Japanese Thermal hair straightening and conditioning at Hair Architects. What a wonderful experience. My hair feels real soft, is straight and is not frizzy! Had the best experience and highly recommend going to Hair Architects. Alex was wonderful, Dante also came over to help and get the process done faster, less money. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable, and special :) Thank you, I will be back. more

I have had problem skin all my life and every skin care professional I have ever talked to tried to talk me into harsh acne products that never work. Ally was the first person to identify that I actually have really sensitive skin and she gave me the most amazing soothing/calming facial and taught me how to care for my sensitive skin! more
