Habitat For Humanity

I'm not sure what all these other reviews are talking about... Habitat's ReStore is great! They have all types of items and all the money spent at the ReStore goes to building homes for the less fortunate! I've found quite a few treasures for a great price. They have a wide selection of books, tools, house wear, etc. I go when ever I'm in a shopping mood. When I cleaned out my garage, I donated all of the things I no longer needed to the ReStore. They were so appreciative and sweet, and I got a tax deduction of $300! That's a cheese! The staff answer all my questions and helped me sign up for the next house build. I love Habitat, and the best part the aspect of giving back. more

I have been in there several times and just looked over the attitude of one of the ladies working in there because it is for a good cause. I work with the public and I know how hard it is to find people to really like what they do and treat customers fair. However after the incident This past Tuesday I will never walk through the doors again and I would never advise anyone else to. My Dad was purchasing some wood that was on a pallet, He couldn't load it and the woman said that they would not help and the pallet had to stay. My Dad told me that he was thinking very hard on how to get the wood. He thought of my grandson and he said that he would have to go get him to help with the wood. The woman made the comment again about the pallet. My Dad said that he just wanted the wood he didn't care about a Damn Pallet. The Lady Said Don't curse me. My Dad said Mam I am sorry but I didn't curse you. She proceeded to call attention to him. Embarrassing him, humilating him and told him to leave. Perhaps my Dad should not have said the word Damn. Perhaps my Dad should have not taken a few to many minutes to figure out how he could get the wood. Perhaps if we had not just burried my brother the day before who was killed in a car wreck my Dad would have been in the right frame of mind to put the woman in her place. But he didn't. He left with his head down low. So I will not go into the store again and look over the rude heartless attitude of some of the people that work there. Humanity. Is it like Charity and it should start at home. Perhaps lessons in compassion could be given. But I think that comes from with in. A business that is there to help others should treat each person that walks through the doors as if they are glad to see them. Any business should. But Habitat for Humanity should stress to everyone that they are there to help others and to treat people with dignity. What was going to be a project to help keep my Dads mind off of my Brothers Death.......thanks more

I have 4 kids and not a big pocket and Habitat has every thing they want, for less! All the Christmas presents? $20.47! And all my kids got great things! more

I have an idea for the previous reviewer. Go shop at Wal-Mart. Let your money leave Anderson instead of giving peeps in your own community a hand up. What good deeds have you bestowed upon your community lately? more

I HAVE BEEN TO SEVERAL HABITATAS THE ONE IN ANDERSON IS TERRIBLE.THE PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE ARE RUDE .THEY OVER PRICE THE MERCHANDISE AND NEVER LET THE GOOD DONATIONS BE SOLD.THE NICE ITEMS ARE THERE PRIVATE SPOIL.
