We used HB McClure for a few years. At first, they just started coming filling our tank without our approval. I got that straightened out and everything seemed smooth sailing. That was until I got a bill in the mail for a tank rental. The basics of it were you owe us this amount of money, because you did not fill up the required amount for our rental. The problem: WE OWN THE TANK!
I called them up, assuming it was a misunderstanding that could be quickly dismissed. After talking to 3 different people, I was told I needed to prove that I indeed owned the tank (I've owned it for over 10 years). I ask the manager "Ken" if he could kindly show me the rental agreement I signed as well as proof that they owned the tank. He could not show our rental agreement (as we never signed one since we owned the tank) and had no way in proving it was their tank. While, speaking with hi, he got so furious he hung up on me. This was very unprofessional, all I did was ask if he could prove they owned the tank, yet he refused to answer the question.
Now, I have to go through all my records to prove I own the tank or they will continue to charge me interest and they will come take the tank. The company can't even keep track of what they own. I will be the first to tell you that I will never use their service again. Honestly, this should have been an easy fix, once they realized they made a mistake, but they couldn't admit it. Instead all they did was threaten to take my property and continue to charge me interest for every day I did not pay.
Save yourself grief and go with a good propane company. Not one that can't even keep track of the equipment , confess to their mistakes and definitely not one that will threaten you for their mistakes. And they Customer Service is not important to them.
