Greenville Zoo 4/1/2006

Greenville Zoo is the place to go for a zoo. They have so much there. It is an old zoo, and it is not very well maintained, but I loved going there. They are nice and kind and I didn't encounter a rude employee. They all seemed to like what they were doing. They ahve many animals there, but it is a small zoo. It's not like they are going to have hundreds of polar bears. I don't think they have any. But it's a nice place to go once a year at least. The picnic areas are great. more

Not at all impressed 3/26/2006

The Greenville Zoo is located near downtown in an older part of Greenville. The zoo is not impressive at all. The zoo does not feature very many displays and it seems like it is not well maintained and rather old. I think that the Riverbanks Zoo is much better. Save your time and money and visit Riverbanks Zoo instead of the Greenville Zoo. more

Greenville Zoo 3/17/2006

My family has a yearly membership to the zoo and we all love it. I have children that range from 2-15 and we can all go and spend the day. Playing on the play ground, having a pic nic and looking at the animals. It is a great place for the family to spend a day. more

Small but Fun 12/19/2005

The Greenville Zoo is a fun way to spend the afternoon, especially for the kids. The elephant is a fun way to start the zoo- I think her name is Joy. The snake house can be scary but fun. It doesn't take long to go through the entire zoo although they are working on expanding. Its small enough that you can take very small children through the entire park. Its cheap admission and Cleveland Park is right next to it so its a good way to spend the day in downtown Greenville. more

Great attraction for the city! Located in Cleveland Park, it is easily accessible. Rates are very reasonable and memberships are available that will give you admission (free or reduced) at 100 other zoos around the country. The first animal you see is the elephant, and she literally seems close enough to touch. My kids always get a kick out of that. The zoo is laid out well for an easy walk, mostly in the shade which is nice in the south. They have recently undergone renovations and are moving ahead with more, making the zoo even better. Every Halloween they offer "Boo in the Zoo", a safe trick or treating experience for kids. Definite must see. more

Cute place 8/11/2005

The zoo here is very small and has cheap admission, but it is a good afternoon activity (it also has a big park nearby) There are few animals, but the property is well kept and it looks beautiful. They even sell food to feed the elephants and giraffes (not there yet). The concessions and gift shop are well prices so you don't have to worry about spending a fortune. more

Great for field trips 8/2/2005

The Greenville Zoo is located right in Downtown Greenville. The Zoo is great for day trips or field trips for kids of all ages. There are many different types of animals to observe, from elephants and giraffes to lions, tigers, and alligators. There is a small petting area with farm animals, a reptile house, and lots of flamingos and other types of birds. There is also an exhibit available in which the zoo staff offers fun and educational hands-on sessions with your group. Adjacent to the Zoo is Cleveland Park, offering large playground areas and picnic areas, as well as walking and biking trails. This is a great area to take your kids for a day trip. more
