As an asian tours been to many asian restaurants and many ohio restaurants, this is by far one of the worst. first off... The perls in t the boba were soggy. the boba is extremely milky. After we ordered spring rolls and they face us eg tools and the waitress didn't know the difference between spring roll and egg roll. The pho want even that good nor was it spicey enough. The service was really slow and like the only good ththing was the bean sprouts and the water to be honest...honesty if your looking for good pho or ban bo go to saigon cuisine on margate...plus the boba is actually good there..... Plus it's cheaper more

We discovered this Vietnamese restaurant last night and are thrilled. The server, Huong, was attentive and explained the different dishes. We ordered #1 Papaya salad & # 11 Nam Vang Noodle Soup which were delicious. But the best dish was #23 Carmelized Fish. I was hesitant because it was Tilapia, but we were very pleased; the flavor was excellent. It was served with a cup of broth, salad & white rice. For desert we had yuca cake and hot jasmine tea -- a wonderful way to end a great meal. The ambiance was relaxing and tranquil. Highly recommended and will definitely be back. more

Customer service here was NOT good at all, the food was just ok and there were some questionable elements on my plate. When brought to owner/wait staff attention, did nothing to remedy. Will not be returning here. more

Very bad experience here, and somehow single reviewers recently who have never reviewed other restaurants are saying this is wonderful?? I find that suspicious. Poor service, poorly prepared seafood which was not cleaned properly. I have NEVER reported a restaurant in my life to the health dept but I felt compelled to in this case. I'm sorry it wasn't a more positive experience:( Was really hoping to find a gem. more

Such a refreshingly good Vietnamese restaurant, and I know my Vietnamese food. Based on all the Vietnamese options in south FL, Green Papaya stands out from the others in terms of quality, freshness, and flavor. I've been to MANY other Vietnamese restaurants and although I can't say I'm a picky eater, I have noticed that the pho here is the most fresh and flavorful of any I have eaten. The menu may not be what one expects a traditional Vietnamese menu to look like, but that's a good thing! Who wants to find the same exact items you can find at another Vietnamese restaurant? I assure you, every item is authentic and delicious. It is clearly a family-owned establishment that is tucked in the corner of a slow shopping plaza, but the inside is clean, relaxing, and nicely decorated. If you take the time to look for this gem, you won't be disappointed. On any given day or night, the restaurant can either be empty or packed to the brim. Despite the inconsistent crowd, however, the food is always up to par. It's also one of the few good bubble tea places in sofla! As with any other restaurant, the service is always changing based on availability, but I'll keep coming back for my fix! more

I ate here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The food served was awful. The shrimp we ordered were never deveined, therefore inedible. The water tasted unclean (never have I had this issue with water before), and the tea was so overly sweet that we were not able to drink it.\r \r When bringing these issues to the attention of the owner/chef, she told us that she could not credit our check for the things that were impossible to eat or drink (even though we brought everything to her attention immediately and did not consume) because, and i quote, "I need money." Laughable, I know.. if she didn't really mean it!\r \r So she needs money, tells us to order the chicken next time instead of actually taking care of the shrimp issue, and fought with us tooth and nail about it.\r \r Never will I come back to this establishment. I have never been treated so horribly in my life as a customer. They do not have your best interest in their minds, just your wallet. more

The shrimp were not cleaned properly, the staff didn't seem to care nor did they want to rectify when told. Even the drinking water tasted off. They keep posting fake reviews too that are favorable which is annoying. more

I'm from the DC area and live near a place called the Eden Center (tons of Viet restaurants). But when I came down to Miami to visit a friend, we were recommended to come to Green Papaya. So we tried it out - it was AMAZING! Much better than any Viet restaurant I've been too. \r \r Great customer service, nice decor, and most of all, the food was insanely good! I'm back in DC now but I'd def recommend Green Papaya to anyone looking for excellent authentic Viet food with top-notch service!\r \r P.S. The Papaya Salad and the Pho are awesome dishes to order! more

If your craving some good Vietnamese or just hungry this is the place to go. Service is great, wonderful and polite staff. I come here occasionally and sometimes services maybe be slow which is usually due to being packed, which place doesn't, but they try their best and the food is worth waiting for! more

I ate at Green Papaya in Coral Springs a week ago and it was really good along with a cheap price. I ordered honey garlic chicken from the appetizers which was very well made and you can tell its from scratch. I then ordered the empress chicken just to try something random and I was very pleased. \r The service was fast, very pleasant and the hostess was very courteous and humble. Family owned and a diamond in the rough in my opinion. Definitely going again more

So, I came to try the lunch today. Worst service of my entire life.. Seriously. Out of any venue where a person would encounter customer service - this was the WORST in history. This review may be a bit long due to the CRAZILY bad customer service I just received here.\r \r Top lines of this trip from owner: Shrimp not cleaned properly? "Oh, sorry, next time just order chicken." Beverage I serve you undrinkably sweet? "I already made so can't refund, I need money."\r \r I ate lunch here with a friend this afternoon. When we walked in, everyone was in the back kitchen and never came out to greet us. No biggie, we just called to them so we could be seated. Mind you, this restaurant was completely empty. Not a soul in there for the hour and a half we were in there (during prime lunch hours).\r \r We started with our beloved bubble tea. It was good, not as thick as it was the previous time ordering. But good.\r \r Then we ordered our food. We ordered the green papaya salad (has to be good if that is the name of the restaurant, right?) that came with shrimp and chicken, but we asked for just shrimp. Then we ordered the lemongrass chicken.\r \r Our waitress was pretty odd.. she was young, and claimed she loves how the restaurant is empty (you would figure a waitress would want more people in for tips, right? Nope!). Her interpersonal skills were definitely quirky, but we didn't mind because we were excited for the food.\r \r Then comes the food. The green papaya salad with just shrimp was god awful. The shrimp was NOT cleaned out (poop veins still in it) and they were cut in half to make it appear as if they gave us more shrimp than what was really given. Didn't matter because we weren't about to eat uncleaned shrimp for lunch. The owner came out and asked what was wrong with the shrimp since it was sitting on the plate, my friend explained the problem, and guess what the owner's response was? "Oh, I'm sorry, next time just order chicken." Almost laughable if she didn't really mean it, but she did!\r \r Next comes the chicken. Pretty tasty.. salad and soup that it came was just okay. The rice was alright. We wanted something to drink so we got water, but it tasted like cardboard. Dirty tasting water.. how do you get water wrong?\r \r To remedy our thirst, we both ordered a ginger iced tea. They loaded our glass up with, no lie, at least a half a cup of sugar each. It was sickeningly sweet. The waitress came and gave us our check and then the owner followed to ask if everything was okay. We proceeded to tell her about the very sweet tea and asked her if she could take it off the bill (we had one sip). She said "no, I need money. But I can fix it by adding water." Uhm, no. I do not want my drink watered down with your water I couldn't drink from my other glass just to cut out the ridiculous amount of sugar you added.\r \r Then after claiming she is the owner, she said she would call the owners to see if we could get a refund. She is on the phone speaking Vietnamese for a few minutes, but then tells us no refund for anything. You served us uncleaned shrimp, we looked passed it. Your water tasted dirty, so we ordered another thing on your menu to quench our thirst. That order turned out awful, and then we get a horrible response from our feedback. I was seriously appalled at how we were treated. Never in my life.. It is not like either my friend or I to complain, but when directly asked for it and then truthfully telling her our response, it was obvious she really didn't give a crap how we felt, it was just a formality hoping we would keep our mouths shut.\r \r Never again. Ever. I really don't give one star reviews, but I cannot justify ANY person being treated the way we were treated as customers this afternoon. I cannot see this place lasting throughout this recession. more

The food in this place is just below average. No reason to come here for food. \r \r However, the service and wait here is unbelievably slow. One time we just had to leave because nobody took our order for 25 minutes. We went back after a few days. This time we placed our order fast but our drinks didn't arrive for 15 minutes. The menu said soup and salad included but they didn't arrive for 1 dish till the main entree was served. For another dish we were told there was no soup but the waitress didn't know why.\r \r When the bill arrived they had added the wrong price for coffee, had added a 18% tip and were charging 7% tax instead of 6%. Plus they were charging the tax on the gratuity as well. In other words cheap gimmicks to get a couple of more bucks from you. Definately not a place to go back to. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 9/28/2011

Worst customer service, bad food and dirty drinking water, the shrimp were dirty unclean (not de-veined). When complained to the owner/manager, they did not care, said they needed the money, and would not remove even the disgusting ginger tea from the bill. Wait staff ambivalent, empty restaurant and now I know why. Do not waste your time or money on this place. I checked the Health Dept records after my experience and was totally appalled at the 2k fines and critical violations which were just done in July 2011. I wouldn't be surprised if this place closed down soon. more

I've been coming here for a while now and will admit that this place was a bit hard to find at first but boy, am I glad I found it. This is a mom and pop restaurant but far from the average. This is probably one of the cleanest Vietnamese restaurants I have been to with a lovely ambiance. The food is excellent! Extremely flavorful and fresh. I don't feel guilty for indulging in any of their entrees (including drinks & desserts!) The staff and owner are always friendly and very accommodating. \r \r I did, however, happen to last come eat here this past Friday night when they were overwhelmingly packed. The service and food did take longer than usual but the waiter and owner did apologize and explained that they were extremely understaffed, only the owner and the waitress, since some of their employees did not show up. They also mentioned that the reason for the huge crowd was due to some online deal people had purchased, which I'm assuming is living social-like. Our party understood and still enjoyed our meal either way. I am happy that people are now discovering this place and will continue to come back! more

Went here on a Friday night. The food was great, better than most viet restaurants, portions are in line with the cost. \r The place wasn't easy to find but was nice and clean once we got it.\r The one bad part about this place, is the service because they are so obviously understaffed. One waiter was handling 10 tables or so and it took 20 minutes to get our order taken and then another 1 hour+ (not a typo) to get our food. The waiter was friendly and did the best she could but with what seemed like 1 person cooking and one person serving 25+ people its a recipe for disaster. \r If the service and food wait time were just average this place would be a gem but when you have to wait almost and hour and a half from sitting down to eating your first bit I'll go to another viet restaurant that has food that is almost as good but brings it out in 10 minutes. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 6/24/2011

The food is excellent here. Everything my friends or I have ordered has been fantastic. The service has also been good, however, the majority of times I have been at the Green Papaya my party was the only one there. \r \r It is a shame more people do not know of this place as their food really is good. The location is terrible and impossible to find and just getting to the building through the parking lot is a maze. \r \r I will definitely be back. more

First time eating here and the food and service is excellent. It's a pity not a lot of people is aware of this place. Give them a try and I guarantee you won't be disappointed and the price is good too. more
