One of the advantages to living close to the Milwaukee Airport is that I get to see friends that are traveling or stopping through our town.
Tonight I had the chance to see some good friends before they took a vacation to Mexico.
They checked into the Best Western Airport Location and my son and I went to pay them a visit.
Well, after being in this hotel for several hours, I can honestly say that I would NEVER recommend the Best Western to anyone.
There are so many hotels surrounding the airport and my family and friends should NOT waste their money here.
I found the front desk staff to be very rude. My friends mentioned that they were rude to them as well when they checked in. It was as if my friends were BOTHERING the staff upon check in.
The hotel was incredibly HOT!~ By the time we walked through the place to find the right room, my 22 month old son was sweating and was very uncomfortable. It was like walking through a sauna.
I understand that the air can feel "moist" when there is a centralized pool area but this was ridiculous!
Another annoyance was that we could NOT find an elevator. No central elevator when you come in. But there were stairs.
When I asked a staff member where was the elevator, the gal looked at me like I was from Mars and replied "It's by Exit 4." Well, that certainly helped a lot! Now where is Exit 4? Where is anything? Hello!!!!! Signage problem here!!!!!
Eventually we found the room and it was your standard hotel room. Nice but nothing special. My friends had the windows opened to cool the room down and it certainly got LOUD with the planes flying overhead. I realize that this is a byproduct of having a room by the airport, but it was just another red X to add to the list.
As we were leaving, I noticed vending machines with NOTHING in them - but the lights were on. NICE! Not that it made a difference to me, but I'm sure someone might be hankering for a treat tonight. Good Luck! Try the Clarion down the block!
