My husband 4 kids ages 2-11 and myself came here to eat as we were in town for sports event. First of all there were no breadsticks in any of the baskets only one of the buffets had clean dishes in it and when asked if they could please get some more breadsticks the staff was slightly rude. But the worst part was we came here to eat because we were tired and hungary and when my 3 year old son wanted to carry his own plate i didnt argue. He dropped and broke a plate, one of the waitresses came and cleaned it up and told me about a ponderosa restaurant that got sued for a plate shattering into a little girls eye. Oh freak accident i replied, then before she had got it cleaned the owner was out at the buffet telling me how HE had been sued no mention of ponerosa. THEN he told me i would have to carry my sons plate because he didnt want to get sued again. Ignoring him at this point i was not arguing with a sleep deprived starving 3 yr old, he dropped his plate again and the owner screamed at me from at least 10 feet away that i needed to get that plate from him. Very angry and humiliated told him he should have a sign up then. He then proceeded to call me dumb and talk back and forth with the staff. I was steaming by now and very humiliated so i told my husband to wait for the other kids to finish eating and i had to go outside with our 3 yr old. Another wonderful couple who have 7 kids saw the whole thing and also scolded the owner for his outrageous behavior. WHILE OUTSIDE WAITING THE OWNER THEN CAME AT ME IN THE PARKING LOT SCREAMING WHILE I WAS HOLDING MY 3 YR OLD SON. Luckily my husband noticed the owner had chased me outside, he left out other 3 children inside the oldest with them to as they didnt need to see everything. My husband came charging at him as the owner was still screaming even after i told him not to be yelling in front of my son. The owner then went back inside, as did my husband to get our other children. He only collected our belongings and children and came back out to our truck. The owner again came outside this time with someone else who said they were sorry the owner didnt say it the woman did and asked my husband to come back in and they would refund our money, not sure why but my husband went back in only to have the police come (3 of them) with sirens blaring. He lied to my husband to try and get him into trouble so he would be there when the police arrived. Then get this the slime ball gave us gift certificates and DID NOT REFUND OUR MONEY knowing full well we would never go there again. I was going to bring them back in but my husband was ready to leave and after all that i guess i was too. Thank god for the couple with 7 children who saw the whole thing and stood behind us you dont find good people like that much anymore. So spread the word if you like being verbally abused and chased after this is the place. Wished id have read the other review before we chose this place there are many other wonderful places to eat in Escanaba where the staff is pleasant and caters to the customers. DONT DINE HERE more

The owner is very rude!!! 11/29/2005

The owner here doesn't believe in customer service. I was a regular customer here, I went there at the least once a week. Until I was insulted by the owner here and was told that my business was not the type of business he wanted at his family restaurant. This man went so far as to follow me and my wife outside and continued to insult us. All that was ask of this man was where the ashtrays were in the smoking part of the restaurant. If that was to much to ask, then he should make his family restaurant non-smoking. Pros: Going out of Business Cons: Owner, Service, Food more
