Suffering from the ""Holiday Rush is Over"" blues, my gf's decided to get together for an afternoon of shopping and a few drinks. We decided to pick Wayne for it's cental location and charm. Many places to choose but settled on (this was the biggest deal having made 5 women happy) because of the parking lot location to town. We had wine at the bar until our party was able to be seated and the bartender was great spirited catering to our requests. Our appetites were satisfied with a great selection of pub-style food and loved the oven baked on premises pizza. The fav was the salad with steak and blu cheese. The decor was beautiful and the stained glass lights add such charm. We look forward to returning and will make it an annual event. I look forward to returning sooner to try the rotissier chicken. I am from out of town and we stopped in the Pub for a bit of ""Phila-food"".The hostess was busy, but very down to earth. there were 6 of us and she did seat us promptly. This was a Friday night and very busy. We had to expect a wait..it wasn't to long. She was apologetic and had us all smiling by the time she sat us. She also motioned for the bartender to wait on us while we waited for a table. The service was very good and the food was great. Thanks for a wonderful experience and we will be back!...Cheesesteak was delicious as well as an outstanding burger! more

""Gee,"" thought I, ""I would like to get all my friends together, eat and drink. The Great American Pub, with their generic menu of food and drink should appeal to everyone!"" I didn't realize that in order to spend money on the mediocre fare, I would have to be either not young and full of life OR a complete loner, because these two things seemed to anger the manager. Every few minutes as we ate, ordered more food and drinks, and waited on our friends (laughing jovially!), we were asked if we were sure that our friends were coming or if there were indeed going to be more people. I came for a happy hour and was treated rudely by the hostess/manager? She was an older woman who was extremely rude to my large party of 15. This was a work related happy hour/dinner and because the party did not all arrive at once (hello, not EVERYONE gets done at 5 people!) we were treated rudely from the start. I was treated *horribly* by an employee here. I will NEVER be returning. Not that I would based on the food either, which was average at best. Don't waste your time--unless you want to deal with impolite, snippy employees. I will be going elsewhere for Happy Hour...where people might actually make me happy? 5 stars to the Great American Pub for their delicious burgers and friendly staff. Every time I have visited the pub I found the service consistently top notch. I recently placed a delivery order which I received quickly and as usual their food was delicious. Kudos and thank you. more

The Great American Pub in Wayne is a nice location. The atmosphere was nice with nice outdoor seating. But my experience was not very nice. The prices were right but my food never came. I went with a friend who ordered a pizza. I ordered a sandwich and some mozerrella sticks. The sticks came out, then the pizza came but I never got my sandwich. The waitress asked how we were doing and I asked for my food. She came back 20 min later and asked again how we were doing. I asked for my food and a refill and neither came. When she brought the check I was charged for a sandwich. I had her take it off. It was a good thing my friend was willing to share her pizza. Needless to say I left a little hungry that night. I will not recommend that spot to anyone. I never even got an apology. Good luck if you go. Hopefully your service will be better than mine. more

Great food for the price - nice presentation & very tasty - Kid friendly as well. A great little spot to relax & enjoy a meal after shopping the Wayne area. Dimly lit upscale taverny feel. Graet bar for just hanging out or enjoying a specialty. Pros: Kid Friendly, Great Value more
